The Mynock's FF2us guide
« on: May 02, 2008, 07:56:14 PM »
As you probably know, The Mynock is an old school FAQer who wrote very fine FF3us and Chrono Trigger walkthroughs (though GameFAQs butchered them years after the fact to make them fit their 79 columns).  Less known is that he made a guide for FF2us.  This was news to me back in 2000 -- until somebody pointed it out to me and I downloaded it -- and it's still very rare on the web.  A Google search for:

mynock cecil kain

Only has 1 match of the guide itself.  So much for proliferation of information.  Yet we can find 12000000 copies of the latest Britney Spears breakdown.  Here's a link to Mynock's FF2us guide:

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Lair/9311/ff2walkthrough.txt

I was thinking of adding a "Miscellaneous" page to my website and uploading the thing there for posterity and reference.  But the thing is, I know nothing about the game, so I'm not fit to judge the guide.  Can those of you who actually know FF2us tell me whether the guide seems decent and useful?  Obviously, I'm not expecting you to read the thing cover-to-cover on my command, but react to whatever you skim at your leisure.

Thanks.

Let me look it over. I never thought this guide even existed. Even if I did see it... I certainly don't recall it very well.

Edit: It looks fine fo the most part for a walkthrough. It's missing one chest AFAIK, at the Blacksmith's (the chest directly east of the staircase).

A lot of the equipment info is wrong, but that's to be expected.
