I guess this is trivial, but is worth mentioning anyways as a reminder.

FF2US (and FF4ET by extension I think) has one less shop available than the original. The missing shop is at the Land of Summoned Monsters.. there used to be two item shops there, but since there is no need with all the status specific items removed, the shop was removed. That shop sold status specific stuff you could not buy anywhere else including the Cross, EchoHerb, and I think a few other items...

This is something you may want to tinker to readd back in if needed.

That shop is available everywhere in the underworld prior to finishing the sealed cave (Or is it the giant of Babel? I can't remember). I've considered restoring them, but what I'd rather do is make a few new shops so there are less duplicates.

No, that's a special shop. The shop you speak of is the one that's always available and not dummied out in any version.

In FF4 there are two shopkeepers at every shop in the underworld, one has a list of nothing but status curing items, the other has potions and such. The shop with the healing items is removed after one of those events I mentioned. In FF2us and ET there is only one shop. Unless I'm misunderstanding you and you mean something else.

IIRC, I believe that's true, until some event occurs and removes the bulk of them.

It probably occurs after the Giant of Bab-il... to make room for the one at the Smith's.

Edit: I think we're talking of the same thing.

You know what.. the two shopkeepers that get removed...

There is probably one shop that gets added on the moon (as soon as you acquire the Big Whale and/or get the drill or somewhere between those events...) and the Smith's shop (this is done in preparation when it opens after the Giant of Bab-il).

I believe that could be some sort of imposed shop limit that is causing that to happen... although I could be wrong.
