Spreadsheets by Entroper
« on: December 31, 2013, 12:28:09 AM »
Hi, new user here.

Been interested in the bare details of FF4A, and was wondering if the spreadsheets made by Entroper are still floating around?

The links located by the "Read First" sticky seems to be dead and gone now.

Thanks.

Probably, somewhere... which data were supposedly contained therein? I may know of the spreadsheets without knowing them as "entroper's spreadsheets."
Have you checked The FFIV Reference Book? Lotta stuff there that's been around for a while and may not be compiled anywhere else.

I've already been there, thanks for the info though.

I'm not particularly sure as to what data it may contain myself as I only came across references to this spreadsheet as I was scouring the net for documentation with regards to FF4A.

The datasheet I'm looking for in particular are these ones:

http://entroper.no-ip.org/TheBatcave/FFRev2.xls - Entroper's FF4A data, seems to be down at the moment
http://entroper.no-ip.org/TheBatcave/FFRev2(2).xls - More of Entroper's FF4A data, same as above

Again, thanks.

Hmm, it seems that this...

Is the only real information that can be found. You might want to PM DeathLike2 to see if he might have Entroper's old notes.

I see.

Well, in that case, I guess I'll just have to try and figure things out myself. :-). Thanks anyways.

follow chillyfeez's link, and get the "Monster Reference(.xls)".  Entroper is credited for it on the Credits page, and the filename is the same as one you mention, so it's probably the same thing.

Oh, is that so?

I was hoping Entroper had notes on where additional information regarding equipment (in particular, elements and spells) but I'll take what I can get my grubby hands on! :-)

In any case, thanks a ton!

I believe that ff4A-structure document I posted from yesterday has some of that information. It is interesting to see how different item categorization is in FF4A, its so much more... editable and not "wheels in a cog" mechanical as it is in FFIV, unless we just have never noticed these areas of RAM in FFIV yet? Not really sure on that regard.

True that. Though it would be easier to hack if all the information were in the same place - as it is, item data is stretched over the ROM, making it a little harder to pinpoint the areas to edit.

As to your structure, I'll take a look at it as soon as I can!

Thanks for your help!

no prob.  for the former, look at the "Item Elements" sheet, and use the "Flags" sheet as a reference.  no clue on spells.
