Two more runs. This one is for v1.01, since I wasn't aware that v1.02  had been released yet. This one is for v1.02. Enjoy and critique away.

Another new version, get it at the guy's page for the time being, I'll get it up on RHDN and my archive in an hour or so:

http://www.geocities.jp/rock5easily/

 :edit:

It's on RHDN now.

 :edit:

And the archive. The date idea doesn't work so well with two versions released on the same day (about 23 hours apart, but the same day nonetheless), it's still better than a made up version number though.

:edit:

Run 1

Looks like you can't clear that spike corridor without using Rush Jet at the very beginning at least.

Another new update, get it at RHDN or the archive. I haven't had a chance to try it yet but based on the screenshots from the page it looks like this version saves your high score.

 :edit:

Yeah, it saves high scores. I hope the SRAM is compatible between versions.

With the one dated October 16th, I have a new movie. New evil tendencies with the gravity rooms... Overall I believe I see 2 new rooms. I also beat my personal best for screen total by going over 100.

Ok, I've finally figured out how to get through that new evil gravity room. For those that don't know what I'm referring to, it's this:

"But that's the old one!"

Very true, it's not until you get to this point where it starts to get different:

"So how do I tell them apart?"

Until you get to that point, there's no way to.

"So how do I get across?"

By watching this.

This requires the version labeled October 18th.

:edit:

If you feel the arrow is too much of a gamble, there is a Rush version available.

:edit:

And now a new demonstration of October 18th. I achieve my new personal best pretty early in the movie, and after the umpteenth attempt, I finally beat that freaking train of a boss. :childish: Ugh, he does indeed suck.

I'm convinced you can cross that room with nothing but it'll require pixel-perfect timing. Load up your state and run out onto the spikes without jumping, as long as you keep running you'll clear them with no problem. When you get to the first wide gap, fly as close to the ceiling as possible without dying, then hold right, I can't get the timing down but I bet it can be done.

 :edit:

Hmm, maybe not, I played at 30 FPS and even then there didn't seem to be any height that would let you clear it, you come within a pixel of triggering the next gravity switch, and I'm not convinced you could get over to the other side fast enough even if you could hit the next switch. You're probably intended to use Rush for this one.

Well, another movie based on the October 18th patch. My new personal best is now 171. :childish: Took me a while to get it, though. I thought I was really screwed against the second boss.

I believe a new version has been released.

:edit:

Yep, it has a new feature as well. It is "Hard mode," where instead of a screen counter at the top of the screen, it's a timer to get from one transporter to another. It starts out at 90 seconds, and I'm not sure if that amount decreases as you get farther or not. When you die, the results screen shows the number of screens you got as usual.

:edit:

Yeah, looks like some time is taken off after every boss you beat.

As a demonstration, I made a movie of it. The date isn't set, though I suspect it'll be for October 21st (tomorrow!?)

Haven't seen any new screens yet, and the black and white ones are still in black and white.

:edit:

Fixed the date.

I went through it about 5 times, and I have two videos to share. One (rck5.nsv) is my best run, where I got to screen 69 before dying at Charge Man. The other movie (rck2.nsv) is just a blooper, where I manage to die after taking just a few steps, after trying to clear some spikes with S. Arrow.

I used Nestopia 1.40 to record, and used the version from October 21st.

I don't even notice a difference between the two versions. How do you get laps anyway? Do you have to clear all 8 bosses?
