Tella won't have that HP, that pick is just there for displaying the Black Mage sprite.

Things planned:

  • A complete set of new monsters--palette swaps and or new graphics alike
  • A complete set of new items
  • A complete set of new magic (minus Cure/Fire/Ice/Bolt)
  • Tweaked characters
  • Tweak some music
  • Tweak some menus
  • Tweak a tiny bit of text
  • Overhaul the treasure chests
  • A complete set of new shops
  • Tweak some events
  • Add new events
  • Add secret stuff
  • Add a few easter eggs
  • Tweak some graphics
  • A new title screen (newer than the one used above)
  • Tweak character stat growth
  • Change up the overworld a bit
  • Add a few new save spots at random places

Thats to name a few.  My ultimate goal is to create a new Final Fantasy IV experience without harming the original story and the main characters.

Seems to me that Hammers have a higher crit rate...the only weapons I can remember that have actually crit'd for me before that aren't hammers are any of the "holy " class weapons.  Crystal Sword, Legend, Light Sword, Excalibur, White Spear.

I think you might want to try the Crystal Sword some more.. it critical hits rather infrequently.

What I meant was the ONLY weapons I can remember doing a crit AT ALL were the holy weapons.  Yes it crit's rather infrequently, but I've never seen a knife or ninja sword crit.

Sort of off topic but the one thing that I REALLY liked about Easy Type was the subtle map changes, like the save sport on the 3rd lunar core.  I will be adding that feature in my mod.

I would hope someone will eventually dump it and emulate it.  If it works on a PPC/WindowsCE/Windows Mobile phone it could easily be emulated.  I for one am glad that it is being produced in some form...down the line look for it to surface on a console or handheld.

You do know that's the default evasion stat when you don't have a shield equipped, right? It's not an arrow at all, it's a shield.

But, you can equip the Bow with it.  Try it.

Burn off that bit on every weapon and choose ONE weapon to test it to see if it PREVENT or INCREASES the crit rate..?

Bamboo stick?  I don't remember that weapon.  What does it replace from the FF2us version?

It's the Piggy Sword, it replaces the Mythril Sword and can be found in Baron Castle's basement (The path to Odin, you find an Elixir there in every other version).

Hmm interesting.  That gives me an idea...

Does this exist?

Yes.

If yes, is this a specific byte set per weapon type or weapon?

It's a bit that can be set on each individual weapon.

Also, which weapons (types) does it apply to?

Whip, Chain Whip, Blitz Whip, Flame Whip, Dragon Whip, Dwarf Axe, Shuriken, Ninja Star, Boomrang, FullMoon, Dreamer Harp, Charm Harp, ShortBow, CrossBow, GreatBow, Archer Bow, ElvenBow, Samurai Bow, Artemis Bow, Iron Arrows, White Arrows, Fire Arrow, Ice Arrows, Lit Arrows, Darkness Arrows, Poison Arrows, Mute Arrows, Charm Arrows, Samurai Arrows, Medusa Arrows, Artemis Arrows

Don't forget the "blank fist arrows" [byte 60].

I've found some more pointers but don't know what menu they pertain to.  Some list the same pointers to the same data that I've posted...odd.  o_O

Oh, and get that wiki up so we can start filling it up with the FF2us Hacking doc stuff.

*edit*
And I seem to be forgetting where the battle menu data is...I found the actual border drawing routine but not the menu data itself.

Awsome it works...mosty.

My main problem right now is I can't find the colon and item amount positions or pointers.   :bah:
