If seeding stays the same as it is now, the first matchups will be:

Packers @ Cardinals
Cowboys @ Eagles

Wait a sec, aren't those the week 17 matchups? Other than swapping the home game for Cowboys/Eagles, they'll both be week 17 rematches.

I don't know what the actual effect of the Packers @ Cards game is... since both teams have records to potentially move seeds #s..

Anyways, that's for Week 17 to finish itself.

Good job Team Favre... way to lose the #2 seed, potentially.

If the Eagles win, it's no #2 seed for you... (it might require another Vikings loss, but it's possible that conference records will kill ya)

Go Favre but I'm glad they lost because that gives the Cowboys a very slim chance at a #2 seed when we beat the Eagles and if the Saints lose.

wee, that was a fun game to watch.  i knew the Bears would fare better at home, but i really didn't expect them to win.  Cutler's TDs actually outnumbered his INTs (by far), and he showed off that super arm at the end there.  they had solid offense and defense in the 1st half and overtime, and special teams really shone throughout the game.

now the pressing question is: can we beat the Lions?

That first half looked like a complete domination on the Bears part. The comeback came too little, too late. A tale of two halves, really. One thing I noticed is that both defenses were really hurting with their key pieces missing. I'll say it now, and Deathlike will agree even though it's more in a ragehate, but the Vikings are screwed...unless they play the Packers.

The difference is, the Packers are playing significantly better than you last saw them. I'm still not comfortable with sackmaster Rodgers, but that defense has changed dramatically over the time.

Only Favre is primarily the Vikings problem... only a collapse against the Giants would the Vikings be really screwed. The Giants as of late have sucked and have been owned by the Vikings, so it behooves the Vikings to actually TRY TO WIN. That might sound like a foreign concept.

Week 17 schedule:

Bleh, we're here!

Quote
Colts @ Bills

Bills - Does anyone want to see more Painter? I don't think so.

Quote
Jaguars @ Browns

Jags - These are the CLEVELAND BROWNS!

Quote
Eagles @ Cowboys (division)

Eagles - This is not a simple decision.. but I think this is the most compelling game of the week (in fact, it should be the SNF game because of its relevance).

Quote
Bears @ Lions (division)

Bears - Maybe, just maybe Cutler gets it... or not. It doesn't bother me either way.

Quote
Falcons @ Buccaneers (division)

Falcons - Go figure.

Quote
Saints @ Panthers (division)

Panthers - I don't expect the Saints to play Brees, but they still haven't quite locked up the #1 seed, but whatever.

Quote
Patriots @ Texans

Texans - Pats have nothing to play for, and the Texans do have everything to play for, despite slim hopes.

Quote
49'ers @ Rams (division)

49ers - Go figure.

Quote
Steelers @ Dolphins

Steelers - This can go either way, but both teams would need to win to have any sort of playoff hopes.

Quote
Giants @ Vikings

Vikings - I don't like this pick because the Vikings are going backwards for whatever the reason... and they don't have total control over getting the #2 seed... someone screwed this up.

Quote
Bengals @ Jets

Jets - Bengals could get the #4 seed, but they have nothing to play for. It would actually be a good thing of the Bengals actually played hard given their loss of offense over the last few weeks...

Quote
Packers @ Cardinals

Cards - The Packers have nothing to play for.. but the Cards could move up in seeding given the situation...

Quote
Redskins @ Chargers

Chargers - Even if the Chargers play the backups, the Redskins have put up the white flag long ago.

Quote
Titans @ Seahawks

Titans - Chris Johnson will have a field day with the Seahawks.

Quote
Ravens @ Raiders

Ravens - There's a chance for upset, but if the Ravens fail to run over the Raiders, that's just their season in a nutshell.

Quote
Chiefs @ Broncos (division)

Broncos - There's something wrong if the Broncos lose. They have a shot at getting into the playoffs, but there are issues at work with McDaniels and Brandon Marshall... go figure.

Once again, Eli Manning cannot beat the Minnesota Vikings. It's David vs Goliath, even though neither team can play the role of David or Goliath. It has to have gotten to his head, there's no other explanation for it. Eventually he'll beat the purple, and that'll be a beatdown of epic proportions...

Oh yeah, the Patriots have won road game all year, @ Buffalo just a couple of weeks ago. They host the #6 seed, which will likely be the Jets or Steelers. If they play the Jets, they're ok for that week. If they play the Steelers... :cybez:

Congratz to the Falcons for having consecutive winning seasons for the first time ever.

Um, that game was worthless given that the Giants checked out last week already.

Seeding is still up in the air... not that it matters. Steelers need LOTS of help to get in, so that's no dice.

That's great except it doesn't come with a playoff game.

Go Cowboys!   Yay!

For a thought, the Cowboys helped the Vikings get the #2 seed. Leno should be giving you congrats.

It's surprising to see the Eagles not show up.

However, the rematch is next week... go figure. This will occur along with the Packers+Cards... same places, all next week. How coincidental... IT MUST BE RIGGED!  :banonsmash:

Given that the SNF is all but official, I've already decided my Wild Card week picks.

Pats over Ravens
Jets over Bengals (despite the rematch) - too many injuries
Eagles over Cowboys (unless the Cowboys win a playoff game, there's no given for this team, although I'm concerned from the Eagles pass rush)
Packers over Cards (those injury concerns might come to haunt the Cards)

I'm sure Leno can figure out what matchup will occur that I really want to see...

If your picks hold up, the divisional round will be:
(6) Eagles @ (1) Saints
(5) Packers @ (2) Vikings
(3) Patriots @ (2) Chargers
(5) Jets @ (1) Colts

This year is going to have a lot of rematches...
