Purple theme at gamefaqs? How'd you do that?

Also, does Jump stop the ATB bar at all (by use of the command and/or Palidor)?

more blue than purple.  click on "Manage account" at the top right corner of the screen, click "Modify Your Site Settings", and choose "NeoClassic Blue".

can't recall for Palidor, but remember that Jump works by having a "ready stance" with a really long wait timer (other examples of ready stances are the fighting stance for Fight/etc, chanting for Magic, and those have much shorter wait timers).  so the ATB timer's not really an issue here, as you already filled it before you chose the Jump command and entered the ready stance.  ATB'll start refilling after you execute your attack, like with any other command.

Was curious, cause there's a ton of ways for the ATB to stop filling without getting inflicted by "stop" status:

Hide, death, stone, seize. Wait, that's it? :isuck:

you're right there's several.  not sure if there are any beyond those..

the bottom line is, it doesn't matter whether the (Grab) Seize stops your ATB, eats your soul, or lights you on fire.  because the (Slow) Seize/Entwine is a prerequisite for ever being grabbed.  prevent Slow, and you prevent the whole thing.  so when this cretin rambles on about what happens to characters after they're grabbed, it's really moot.  besides missing 5 opportunities to procure RunningShoes in the WoB, he doesn't understand cause and effect.

there's enough of a lag between the Slowing and the grabbing for sane people to put 2+2 together.

his approach seems to be flinging crap at a dartboard and seeing what'll stick (so far, nothing).  as his argument always shifts:

- most players wouldn't have RunningShoes by then.
- most players wouldn't equip RunningShoes, even if they had them.
- even if you have RunningShoes and like them, there'd be no reason to equip them for this battle, because Seize/Entwine doesn't Slow characters.
- RunningShoes dominating that battle is a bug!!
- Meeple is 40 years old and has no friends!
- it hurts when trancer1 slaps me in the face!
- "i know people", and they wouldn't play the game like 90% of posters in the gamefaqs thread.
- etc, etc, etc.

You know, I never put together Running Shoes preventing Seize. I usually used Ribbon to prevent the slow/poison.
I usually do use Running Shoes because I dislike a lot of the relics effects. Preventing status when battles end sooner than they're effects really affect you is no real reason to put relics on at all. I like to use Ribbon as a free-item heal too. I think I keep everyone with Running Shoes 75% of the time until Marvel Shoes replaces them (for it's haste and regen)

Ribbon won't prevent Slow, iirc.  it does prevent Poison, but Wall Rings are even more effective for that battle.

i'm fairly defensively-oriented, so i equip Ribbons quite regularly.  the thought of even having an ailment affect me for 10 seconds in battle would drive me up a wall, particularly the ailments that incapacitate a character or take away your control of them.  and i'd find equipping+unequipping relics after battle to remove statuses to be too much of a chore.  i likewise am big on Marvel Shoes.  those and Ribbon were my most typical endgame setups.

woo, we have the same number of posts.

"I know people" that are idiots. That's a reality!

I've never liked Wall Rings because it would require a method to heal yourself through the status... not that FF3/FF6 was hard, but it was just a hassle.

hah, looks like the moron's been banned.  so his account lasted 3 weeks tops.  i suppose it was only a matter of time, though most of his messages were just stupid or whiny, rather than ToS-shattering.

ah, i think Sandyboots' post here might explain it:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=554041&topic=54393494

his links show the Concerta_ fool trolling on multiple boards (though the FF5 post isn't him).  he was especially obnoxious on the FF8 thread, declaring that he "knows 90% of people hate the game" (sound familiar? :P).

assuming there wasn't one super offensive post, it appears the mods actually banned this guy due to big picture assessment.  why have they not done the same thing with livin or ebmid2?

Wow, dude has some serious issues. I'm glad he's not constantly following up any post I make with the "...with a light speed camera" crap anymore.

I steer clear of gamefaqs for any sort of casual discussion on video games. The only time I post is if I have question regarding something very specific or want to address misinformation that may be posted.

They still have info in the code sections of how to get to a secret diamond room in Bubble Bobble (NES), for example, in spite of me challenging it and the consensus that it's not actually there.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/563392-bubble-bobble/answers?qid=5573

If I'm tagging an NSFE and I find in-game credits that aren't up on gamefaqs, I also submit them.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/83877.html
I'm not really sure what rules they follow for accepting credits. I already know they don't like the classic style nicknames (bun bun) from game credits, but even at that they've only accepted about half of my credit submissions.

Oh man, massive arguments have returned. What started out as a genuine misunderstanding has blown up into an argument between Meeple and Triforce. I'm still on posts 51-100, but something Meeple said caught my eye:

Quote
Sneeze has a higher chance of kicking in that 2 Hawk Eyes being thrown. Again, ONE IS NOT SUFFICIENT. Not to mention 33% > 25%, so you have a higher chance of being sneezed than Locke does of doing MEGA AWESOME HAPPY DAMAGE (which...isn't even that good.)
I'm almost 10,000% sure that's wrong, even with the FC 05 omnicounter bug. Looking at Dragon's AI, I see this:
Code: [Select]
If 1 monster(s) or less remain
Lore: Battle
End If and reset targeting
Rand. spell: Battle or Battle or Nothing
Wait until the attack sequence is called upon again, then continue (reset targeting)
Rand. spell: Battle or Battle or Special
End first wave of attack
End

I'd consider sticking my neck in the fray to find out what his reasoning is, but I'm afraid I'll be decapitated if I did.

Well, I've found the Hawk Eye become more consistency awesome than the Tempest, at the time of relevant usage.

Besides, stealing the Genji Glove so that Locke can use it at will is all the more awesome.
