Ok check out the latest patch.  Should be version 1.2b.  Lots of good stuff in there and you can go through the Bone Dungeon.

excellent.  gonna start in like 5 minutes.

well, the first couple of battles were very narrowly won through liberal abuse of my 3 charges of cure.  i'm at lv. 2 now and killing things is much easier.  i'm thinking that lv. 4 ought to be enough to take on the minotaur.

New 1.3b patch is out. 

I've been beta testing this myself for a few hours, so far so good.  Worked out a few bugs with both my HT and MQME editor.

You should probably start a new game...

You need to use split topic, then chose the post(s) you want to split, then merge it/them into the other topic. Yeah, it's a bit of a pain, I'm hoping they've simplified it for SMF 2.0.
