I posted what I thought game music enthusiasts would enjoy and this is the response I get.  but I suspected this kind of response.

Honestly, could people be more respectful?  Respect is something that is apparently absent these days.

You probably accidentally set the arrow bit, that makes it so you lose the weapon after attacking with it. I was taking advantage of that for my hack, I made a Glass Sword with 255 attack power that broke after one attack, I ended up scrapping it because of the arrow bug.

I thought about making that Glass sword myself too.  SaGa 2 (FFLegend 2) for the GB had it and I remember it being awsome.

But yea, I did probably set the wrong bit.

Any reason why the Strength Staff disappears like an arrow? After a hit, it disappears....

I don't remember that happening.   :wtf:  That's a very good question.

SPC - Hard Core / Re: Final Fantasy V
« on: January 17, 2008, 07:37:18 PM »

Seems like CT is actually capable of playing FF5 songs more than FF6, though it still needs work. So maybe if you can get the songs to work right in CT, then you can port them to FF6.

 :omg: wouldn't that be amazing?

FF5 uses a different SPC core than CT/FF6.  Leno and I are/were trying to finish figuring out FF5.  Leno has an incomplete SPC parser for FF5 BTW.  Once FF5 is documented (and possibly others) a converter can be coded.

Did you release yours? cause i don't remember hearing it before.

Nah, I accidently deleted that ROM before I could dump the SPCs of those remixes.  I like to do about 2-4 remixes per session--somehow when I took a break I forgot those songs were in the ROM when I deleted it.  No big deal, its not like I can't reproduce it.

Hey JCE, i hope you don't mind me stealing your topic to bring you a song that I imported into Chrono Trigger.

I gave my self a chance to take a stab at Johnny C. Bad, Vehek from another board imported it into Chrono Trigger before, but it didn't sound right.

So here is my rendition of the same song.

Sounds good.  I imported it a while ago and used the exact same instruments.

Gaming Discussion / Re: The worst review in gaming history...
« on: January 15, 2008, 01:35:03 AM »
*thinks JCE is pissed because FF4 got a bad review*

That said, the games that got the "not worth it!" sticker were largely bad because of bad implementation. *looks at FF2, FF3, FFMQ, and FF5*

It's reasons like this is why I never read reviews, top x lists, or any other subjective stuff regarding games. :cycle:

The FFII (US) or the FF4 GBA review weren't even a third of why I thought this reviewer was a complete 'tard.  He contradicted himself on FF7, thought FF8 had a bad story (WTF?), and that SMRPG was terrible?  Those three alone made me irritated.  The rest was just icing on the cake for me, really bad review.  "Bad implimentation" doesn't and should not automatically be deemed "worthless".  And for god sakes, everyone in the history of RPG gaming will tell you that the PSP FF1/FF2 versions had better graphics than the GBA/PSX/WSC versions.  I mean its in 16:9 widescreen for christ sakes!  And I didn't feel "insulted" and "kiddie" when I got MQ for my birthday in 1992.  Infact I had a sleepover with all my friends (XT was there) and we played MQ for like 6 hours straight.  The story is good enough to warrant it a good game.  I could go on but I'm tired.

...its so bad that not only me but XT found it personally insulting.  Its a claimed retrospective review of the Final Fantasy series (among others), and it does a horrendous job.  No offense to any youngsters here but this idiot had to of been 17 yearsold--and thus has no clue on any games released before 2000.  I can't believe I wasted precious minutes reading what he said.  Read it at your own peril, I'm serious its that bad.
