General Discussion & Support / Re: FF3USHT Bug Fixing?

This is awsome, I can't wait to play this when its fixed.   :cookie:

The item descriptions on the "Learn Holy+" is wrong, the effect of Holy x 3 is correct.  Camel can be changed to Chocobo, that does fit better.  I never even paid attention to the typos!   :omg:  I feel retarded to have missed them.  Oh and DKK edit the Lucky Knife to have +84 more atk please.

Do you remember if being able to take Biggs, Wedge, and Leo's equipment off in battle was intentional?

No idea..?  Probably not.

Yay people playing my hack, identifying issues, and fixing them!   :omghax:

I've been working lately and had no real time to sit down and do some hacking.  And as far as bugfixing goes I am no where near as knowedgable as Leno, DKK, and the rest of the PB team.  I'm looking forward to playing my HT's again once I complete the few games infront of them on my master list.

I voted Ice, simply because the Ice spells look the best to me.

I nominate all of the SaGa series for this catagory.  They've all had fantastic music--and the SFC/SNES versions along with the PS2 version have had the best.  If you haven't listened to them yet I highly recommend it.

I also nominate Super Mario RPG--good soundtrack often unnoticed.

You need to put XenoGears higher on your list.

Nah, its high enough.  I've already been playing it on my PSP through emulation.  I'll finish it when I buy it--I only have disc one on my PSP with no images.  I never got around to actually buying the game, I desperately need to.  But funds are very limited at the moment.  Its running for about $30-40 for a complete black label item on ebay.  I'm not friends with XT anymore so I can't borrow his.

this looks like it should be a fun little exercise to observe.

good luck!

Indeed!  Since I don't have a life or friends expect progress.  Romancing SaGa (PS2) is my current priority.  Should have at least Hawke's storyline done within a week or two.  Then I finish the Minish Cap since I'm almost at the end from a couple of years ago, then after than its on to the Romancing SaGa 1-2 for the SFC/SNES assuming they have been translated--if not I move on to RS3 followed by Chrono Cross.  I made a slight error on my list so I'll be reuploading it.

Oh, and I don't have FF4 for the DS so that gets put aside and FFXII is sort of my "break" from the rest of the games.  I can't play one game at a time without taking breaks.

The point to this topic is mainly to release my master list of games to play and discuss such topic.  I will be going through the games cheating using cheat codes/glitches/exploits/game enhancers BUT NOT FAQs OR WALKTHROUGHS.  The goal of this is to go through the game to progress the story and spend as little time wasting in battles as possible (minus the hardtype hacks).  I won't do things like massive exp or level cheats.  Just maybe money or something not as harmful.

Legend:

-Date Started = duh
-Date Finished = duh
-Rating = Final game rating from 1 (bad  :finger:) to 5 (perfect  :childish:)
-Play Normal? = To cheat or not to cheat
-Comments = duh

Enjoy!

I just want a weapon that acts similar to the Lucky Knife in my HT hack.  Make it have uber stats and randomly cast a good spell but make the hit % like 15-25%.   :blits:  Hehehehe...

Nevermind.

Here's the song imported to FF6 instead.  The original MIDI wasn't that good of quality but you can get the idea.

The MIDI came from FF7PC.  I don't know about limitations, except that obviously you can't have more than 8 channels.
I used tinyMM to convert it.
In what sense was your import a failure?

The song doesn't play.  I've been able to at least not corrupt a ROM, but it still just doesn't want to play.

This is fucking pissing me off now.  NO DAMNED MIDI FILES WILL IMPORT FOR ME.  Yes YOURS imported just fine but some vital information is lacking somewhere.  So please assist those of us who don't get this working by answering a few direct questions.

Forget anything posted or submitted in this thread up until this point.  I'm starting new from this post.

Where did you get your MIDI file -- and or what program was used to compose it?
Are there any limitations on what sort of MIDI file that can be imported (channels, pans, etc)?
Can you upload the actual MIDI you converted please?
What program are you using to convert this MIDI file to an MML?  Because there are three converters and none of them seem to be able to work correctly with this program.

I only ask these because my patience is depleted and others are most likely having the same issues as me.  I don't have the drive to sit here for years trying to figure this out.

Here is yet another example of a failure.

ff2elder.mid = original midi
ff2elder.mid.mml = unedited conversion using tinymm
ff2elder1.mml = edited using your "guide"

Spent a good penny (in July) for Romancing SaGa for the PS2.  And I'm loving every minute of it...except for the fact that like RS3 I'm sort of stuck and don't know what to do.  lol  Also bought an Age of Empires collection for the PC for $9 at Wal-Mart.  Has the original AOE+exp and AOE2+exp.
