Title: Change Command
Post by: Dark Knight on July 31, 2014, 07:21:43 AM
After some much reading, I manage to change the text for Change to Parry on the left side of the battle menu. The only thing left is to make the effect of Change (the new Parry) point to Parry (Defend) instead of Change (Swap Row). What I am trying to accomplish is the following; by going either left or right during battle, both of these will be Parry (Defend). I still want to keep the Change command and make it into an actual battle command which I can easily do. Has these pointers been documented or discovered? I tried some stuff, but yielded no successful results.

Hmm... I should have the pointer addresses to all of the commands, let me take a look...
Ah here we are. Keep in mind that these are in Lo-ROM, but just a quick search should yield their locations in ROM.

Also, be aware that these are only applicable to a v1.1 ROM. The offsets for version 1.0 are off by a small amount, making the list of pointers entirely different.

Cool - Good to know! I had poked around at some of these ideas when looking at FFV a while back. I wanted to look at changing 'Row.' I remember running into a targeting problem - so Chakra worked well, but most commands didn't do anything.
