Huh...so I guess the parody from the old Adventurers webcomic must have been based on the harder Japanese version.

I've been playing this for a while and I like what's been done!

Also, was I imagining things or was Edward the Bard...useful?

From what I could tell, his Salve skill healed useful amounts of HP and his attack power was a match for Cecil.

Sounds about par for the course.

But yeah, I don't post a lot on GameFAQS forums anymore. Like W.O.P.R. from War Games says, the only winning move is not to play.

I like going on a forum where I can talk about stuff without getting modded for whatever reason. Ironically, this is pretty much any other site, as far as I'm concerned.

The verdict is in.

My topic is in violation of the rules. If I think those other topics are in violation, I'm welcome to report them because expecting them to know about every topic is unreasonable.

EVEN if that topic is stickied (meaning the GameFAQS staff KNOWS IT EXISTS) on top of the top rated NES board.

I WOULD report that topic out of spite but it's actually useful to preserving the game's legacy.

I'm torn between calling them incompetent or hypocritical.

There's nothing like that on any other forum, let alone this one.

Still glad to hear it, though. :)

What did I do? I posted a link to the bug fix patch.

There's a link in another (now archived) topic that also points to the same site. However, they didn't bother with it because, supposedly, no one marked it. Which is a load of crap, if you ask me. That topic was pretty big on the SD3 forum for a while so there's NO way the moderators could have missed it.

As we speak, there's also that topic from the NES Final Fantasy board which has truckloads of hex hacking data for the ROM. The topic exists since 2008 and is PINNED, meaning it will always appear on top of the topic list.

There was also one time long ago where they closed my topic because I was discussing modifications to the save state file. This one is particularly stupid because they have GUIDES that DISCUSS how to DO JUST THAT.

ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE.

The administrator seems to be the only one with ANY amount of sense. Every time I got a successful appeal, it was because of the administrator.

I swear to god that the near-entirety of my moderated forum activity, on ANY site, is because of those douche clowns from GameFAQS.

Yeah, advertising this forum isn't going to be easy.

Romhacking.net deleted my topic a while back and now, GameFAQS is deleting a topic I made for Praetarius' fix patch.

Reason? Illegal activity involving ROMs. According to them, you need the ROM to use the patch in the first place (which I seriously doubt but hey, what do I know?)

Meanwhile, they allow a huge hacking topic on the NES Final Fantasy board to exist. The topic has PAGES of hex code you can use to change the game with. You could easily make all the IPS patches you could want.

For whoever is interested, this here's a basic bug fix patch by Praetarius.

That's an interesting detail. That might be why the hard hack is also not there.

10
The way I see it, the Duelist has a hard time standing up to the Sword Master because :

1) His sabers are single-target
2)Dark Saber only matters against a handful of enemies

Basically, he was a glorified Gladiator, like Kevin's Bashkar was a glorified Grappler.

As for Lise, well, I felt it had to be done. Her variety of support spells have always made her vastly better than Duran in the long run.

By the way, what kind of file hosting does Romhacking.net support? As far as I can tell, they need direct links to files and I only know of places like Dropbox.

11
It's not a big hack like the other one but I've revised the spells learned by some of the classes. Hopefully, this makes the different classes more interesting.

 :edit:

I revised Lise's dark classes. The final classes get MT Mind Down to compensate for their lackluster summons.

I don't know about specific strategies but I usually tend to have two buffers and one buff recipient with offensive skills.

Oh, and why is there truckloads of fan art of Lise/Riesz but barely anything for Angela?

Although it's mostly used for PAR codes and save states, this old guide may be useful for referential purposes.

Would it start a turf war if you advertised your forum on Romhacking.net?

Sounds about right.

I couldn't get it to work at first...until I remembered that you need to unlock the mana stone spirits.

BTW, the stat requirement can go above 8. And, if I understand the system correctly, may go up to a value of 1F.
