Final Fantasy IV Research & Development / Re: FF2/4/4A Run Behavior

I've never heard of this nor looked into it, as far as I know losing money is the only thing that can happen when you run.

+1  That is all that happends.

That's pretty hardcore. How do you go about transferring the music between games? I know your utility can change instruments, but can it also transfer the music as well, or do you still have to do that using old-fashioned hex editing?

Old fashioned hex editing.  My program will eventually be able to import/export between these games--but for now its just going back to basics.  Not to toot my own horn bt I rather think the Victory Fanfare from FF6 sounds pretty damn good in Chrono Trigger.

And if those voiceovers are real--thats awsome too.  However, I assume those voiceovers are for the trailer only.

It's entirely possible  that those voiceovers are real. However, Square-Enix is notorious for horrible English dubbing, so I don't expect much to look forward to.

Final Fantasy XII was actually quite good I thought...maybe they're getting better.

WOW

I can't express to anyone just how awsome that is.  Words fail.  THIS is how you do a remake ladies and gentlemen.  Not just slightly improved graphics--but a complete overhaul.  It just isn't the same seeing those screenshots versus an actual gameplay movie.  Sad thing is, I understood just about everything they said in that game and where in the game it was....and I don't speak Japnese.

And if those voiceovers are real--thats awsome too.  However, I assume those voiceovers are for the trailer only.

For perspective this video:

...is 29.3MB.  And that's with half the quality bar.

what encoder and quality settings are you using?  And how large are these videos.
XviD MPEG-4 Codec. It works. They have better compression, so the files don't get huge in a quick hurry, though that can happen with any codec.

Where'd you get that codec?  My videos are quite large...using the Windows Media 9 VCM.

Seems like the organ samples are the same in RD as they are in CT

They are exactly the same actually, along with just about 95% of the rest of the Radical Dreamers BRR samples.

UPDATE:
Two more videos...see first post.

I'll assume you are using SNES9x to encode your movies.  If so (or not) what encoder and quality settings are you using?  And how large are these videos.

what do you think is the largest collection of SNES games that all share the same sound core, prolly something from Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, Lucas Arts, Rare, Square, Enix etc. eh?

I bet a TON of Capcom games reuse stuff like that, they like to recycle. Do you know about this sort of thing? I'm sure you care more about RPG type stuff but still thought I'd ask.

If I were to guess I'd probably either pick Capcom, Nintendo, or Squaresoft.  So far I've counted 7 games which use a similar SPC core--and they're from Squaresoft.  I haven't even looked at any other genre for SPC data yet.
