yeah, some people do actually.  i've heard that question asked before.  smoke enough in your house, and sooner or later damn near everything will smell like it.  it's pretty horrible.  i had a girlfriend whose parents did that and i tried to avoid ever going in there, pretty much.

I hate smoke. Not even in a "Sir, would you put that out?" kind of way. More like a, "Old lady, I'm gonna punch in you the FACE!" kind of way.
And boy have I got a story about when my aunt moved in and thought she could 'sneak' smoking in the house by hiding the ash tray she used because that means "If I don't see the ash tray, then I can't smell or taste or SEE the smoke."
