Here's a different suggestion... add a new hack/patch for expanding the item drop/steal info message. Instead of a standard message of "Stole/Got Mithril x1!", expand the message with the appropriate item/icon type that's displayed in the item screen... like "Stole/Got Mithril Shield x1" or "Stole/Got Mithril 'Icon' x1".

That would be a massive improvement from the existing message that is normally provided.

Is there a one-time only item that shows up that's not the esper (Hero Ring and something else IIRC, probably Cure Ring)?

It bothers me a lot when I can't simply buy more of those Hero Rings (there's other methods of obtaining it, but I need to find ways of spending the money that I never use... GP Rain is not my favorite command anyways).

Note: It's worth pointing out that there are a few espers that haven't had their names in the script appropriately changed.. such as the following:
Kitty/Gorgon (probably doesn't need it, aka Stray/Kirin)
Demon Z (aka Zoneseek)
Afrodite (aka Sraphim)
Jenipher (aka Starlet)
Wolf (aka Fenrir)

There are probably a bit more than those I've listed...

Poison prevents this command from being selected. However, if Poison is inflicted after the command is executed, the command will continue to be carried out.

I forget if Toad stops certain commands from working after execution.. Piggy still allows you to execute the last command.. which allows for amusing stuff like Pig Kicks.

Cecil probably isn't, but the battle bugging up is. The editor's faulty monster changes break battles pretty easily.
