:isuck: I immediately love two things about your site: the emoticons, and the fact I had to mention Hudson soft to sign up, I love the rengoku games, wish they'd make a even better 3 for the ps3 or so.

Anyway, i found Jeff Ludwig's FFV-A custom classes mod, and fell in love with it. i really wanted a lot more class customization, and i found it. One thing i love to do is speculate and plot out builds for games i really enjoy, i dunno how many fusion chains I've made for Shin Megami Tensei games... If you're unfamiliar, he basically made it so classes and skills add to stats, all classes have three open slots, changed the order of when you get them, ect. And also made it so any class could use mastered skills. and I was ecstatic, until i realized that every class doesn't get the stat bonus for a mastered class as well.

Basically, i was looking forward to a actual customized group of warriors of light, not 4 freelancers/mimes just cause it was more efficient. So, I want to add whatever trait that allows the freelancer/mimes to gain best mastered stats along with the other classes, so endgame, each class can be statistically powerful, and i won't be stuck using a party of freelancers/mimes simply because they have 2/3 more stats than another, when i want to have a blue mage with x-fight, spellblade, and ianuki or something.

I've looked at a few tools, and haven't seen anything like what i wanted, namely the FFV-A class editor, by benjamin popp, who i might send an email, already sent one to jeff ludwig, since it is his mod was interested in changing a bit, and the only other tool i seen mods battles, I've also looked through a txt file on this site with a lot of FFV-A code in it, but didn't see anything like what i wanted to do.

TL:DR, want to make all classes inherit strongest mastered class stats, so I'm not wanting to use mime/freelancer just cause they have higher stats. Figured I'd ask your guy's advice.

ah hell, nevermind. this is something I've been looking into for a few days, and made no headway. i have no technical skill with this sort of thing, and i was hoping it was some normally unobtainable passive that i could just turn on for every class, like a skill that you can't learn that freelancer and mimes have passively.

But i just realized, if all the change i wanted was for mastered classes to give their stats (in this case, with the four highest stats all classes would add 40 to each stat) instead of doing it some bass ackwards way, or try and learn how to hack code, i could just play the normal, modded rom version until I've mastered said classes, then load a version whee i modded the classes using the class mod tool i found with all classes getting 40 in each stat like freelancer and mime would.

Sounds like you will need to edit the assembly code for job changing and setting abilities. Somewhere there is a check where it detects if you are using Freelancer/Mimic. What you need to do is change it so it always returns true. It might be glitchy, though.

I could get some cheats

If you're opened to use cheats, I have some that can do that. For the innate abilities, I only have (at the moment) addresses for the SNES version, but if the offsets on the GBA are just like its counterpart, it should be a breeze to get them (Although, IIRC there are more innate abilities on the GBA because of the new jobs).

  1.3d Innate Abilities

Code: [Select]
+---+----------+----------+
|Hex| Ability  | Ability  |
+---+----------+----------+
| 01| Passages | 2-Handed |
| 02| Pitfalls | Preemtiv |
| 04| DmgFloor | Caution  |
| 08| Dash     | Berserk  |
| 10| Learning | Medicine |
| 20| Barrier  | Dbl Grip |
| 40| Evade    | Brawl    |
| 80| Counter  | Cover    |
+---+----------+----------+

You would just need to activate the values corresponding to what you've mastered. E.G.

7E0520 XXXX        1st Player Innate Abilities
7E0520 0904    would give you Thief's innate abilities to your character regardless of the job he's using
