Oh, if you mean the Rangers... I was actually hoping they win. Unfortunately... they had two great chances blown and one scared shitless outfielder. Sorry JCE.

Cruz was rattled for sure, especially having one hell of an ALCS.  Oh well, at least we made it there.  We'll get there again eventually, I hope...

You have a shot, given the pitching. The problem is that you don't have an ace... you lost Lee last offseason. CJ Wilson is the next free agent, and he's not a true ace even if you re-sign him. Still.. you can't have an outfielder that has no balls to go catch the ball near/at the wall to the best to his ability.

Week 9 schedule:

Reaching the halfway mark...

Quote
Dolphins @ Chiefs

Chiefs - Isn't there a matchup that will get the fish a win?

Quote
Falcons @ Colts

Falcons - Team #1 of 2 for "Suck For Luck" playing.

Quote
Buccaneers @ Saints (division)

Saints - Despite the bye for the Bucs after a trip to London, the Saints are coming off a bad loss to the Rams... of all teams.

Quote
Jets @ Bills (division)

Bills - I don't exactly like this pick, but the Jets are awful after a bye for some reason.

Quote
Seahawks @ Cowboys

Cowboys - There is something really wrong if you can't beat the Seahawks.

Quote
Browns @ Texans

Texans - Unappealing matchup.

Quote
49'ers @ Redskins

49ers - There is only on caveat on the timing of the game....

Quote
Bengals @ Titans

Bengals - I am weary of this pick, given the matchup.

Quote
Broncos @ Raiders (division)

Raiders - I'm not sure which is the bigger disaster... Tebow, or Palmer.

Quote
Giants @ Patriots

Pats - I'm just hoping for the bounce back game....

Quote
Rams @ Cardinals

Cards - Teams of suck, battling it out.

Quote
Packers @ Chargers

Packers - Chargers seem to find a way to lose.

Quote
Ravens @ Steelers (division)

Ravens - I know it is easier to favor the home team in a divisional game.... but it is still difficult to analyze.

Quote
Bears @ Eagles (Monday)

Eagles - The question is which defense is better... I like the "suddenly better" Eagles d at this point in time...

Scores Ending Week 8:
Leno: 7-6
Gil: 8-5
Me: 9-4

Combined Scores Ending Week 8:
Mate: 19-13 (DNP weeks 3-8)
Gil: 57-46 (DNP week 5)
Leno: 73-43
Me: 75-41

Scores Going Into SNF Week 9:
Leno: 6-6
Gil: 8-4
Me: 8-4

Current differences left - I picked the Ravens, Leno picked the Bears

Some notes:
Early games (both of them) - Snoozefests. Jets @ Bills was boring in that the Bills are like the teams of old. Bucs @ Saints wasn't as good as it should have been (as a divisional game).
I have nothing positive to say about the Pats game. It does remind me of that SB if you were wondering.
Ravens @ Steelers game so far is interesting.

Since when did you change the policy? :P

I am picking the Chargers in any case.

Week 10 schedule:

Arg...

Quote
Raiders @ Chargers (division, Thursday)

What happened to Rivers?

Quote
Cardinals @ Eagles

Eagles - Go figure on what happened to the Eagles on SNF... well, maybe not. There is something to the Bears matchup.

Quote
Titans @ Panthers

Panthers - I'm not comfortable with this matchup... it's a toss up in my mind.

Quote
Texans @ Buccaneers

Texans - Is there any sane reason why one would pick up Haynesworth?

Quote
Redskins @ Dolphins

Dolphins - TBH, this is a terrible matchup. Which team sucks more? I have no idea.

Quote
Jaguars @ Colts (division)

Jags - If you are running fantasy, I'd say MJD will have a field day.

Quote
Broncos @ Chiefs (division)

Chiefs - I don't know why. Team Tebow can't always have Tebow Time.

Quote
Bills @ Cowboys

Cowboys - It feels like some crazy upset pick. The Cowboys have a run game that could run all over this Bills defense... and I wonder if the Bills decline is starting. I guess we'll find out. I don't think the Cowboys are that good though...

Quote
Saints @ Falcons (division)

Falcons - The Falcons are very tough at home... for whatever the reason.

Quote
Rams @ Browns

Browns - There's a potential for an upset, but this is an awful matchup on paper.

Quote
Steelers @ Bengals (division)

Steelers - I still think the Steelers are better than the Bungles.

Quote
Ravens @ Seahawks

Ravens - If history of the Ravens tell us anything, they could have another slide... unless they change that.

Quote
Giants @ 49'ers

49ers - I guess the Giants won their SB again...

Quote
Lions @ Bears (division)

Lions - Time favors the Lions, but I'm unsure if they are actually better than the Bears. These two teams will have to duke it out to get the Wild Card...

Quote
Patriots @ Jets (division)

Jets - I'm just too down on my team. Jets looking to get better...

Quote
Vikings @ Packers (division, Monday)

Packers - I do see a potential for an upset by the Vikings, but that would require Rodgers to have a really shitty day. I don't think that trend of having a bad defense can keep a team undefeated for so long.

Scores Ending Week 9:
Leno: 7-7
Gil: 8-6
Me: 9-5

Combined Scores Ending Week 9:
Mate: 19-13 (DNP weeks 3-9)
Gil: 65-52 (DNP week 5)
Leno: 80-50
Me: 84-46

Scores Going Into SNF Week 10:
Leno: 5-9 (forgot to pick the Ravens @ Seahawks game - auto-loss)
Gil: 5-9
Me: 6-8

Only difference in picks left is Gil's crazy faith in the Pats. Everyone likes the cheeseheads.

Notes on games:
Early CBS game - Cowboys owned the Bills like expected. Fortunately, they switched me out to watch the more interesting Steelers @ Bengals game. At least that was interesting...
Early FOX game - WTF WERE THE FALCONS THINKING?!?!?
Late FOX game - The 49ers were better than the Giants... as I thought. So yay! I got to see some bonus Lions @ Bears coverage, but that was pointless with the score.

Terrible week for everyone... so CONGRATS! :P

Week 11 schedule:

TNF Begins! Last byes to be had.

Quote
Jets @ Broncos (Thursday)

Jets - Despite the loss, the Jets don't have to do that much in the pass... although I'd like Tebow Time to be extended.

Quote
Buccaneers @ Packers

Packers - What happened to this up and coming team? Oh well.

Quote
Panthers @ Lions

Lions - The Lions better lick then wounds soon... the Bears are making a comeback here...

Quote
Jagaurs @ Browns

Jags - I'm not sure if anyone really watched the Rams beat the Browns last week.

Quote
Raiders @ Vikings

Raiders - This game might be closer than it looks. Remember, the Raiders are the same team that lost to Team Tebow. Does AP smell blood?

Quote
Bills @ Dolphins (division)

Bills - Perhaps this is the fix that ails the Bills...

Quote
Cowboys @ Redskins (division)

Cowboys - Grossman is an upgrade to what?

Quote
Bengals @ Ravens (division)

Ravens - Someone needs to clean that mess that was Seattle.

Quote
Cardinals @ 49'ers (division)

49ers - By comparison, the best team of both West conferences is still the one that used to have Joe Montana.

Quote
Seahawks @ Rams (division)

Rams - If two awful teams play, do they make a sound?

Quote
Titans @ Falcons

Falcons - 4th and inches became 4th and fail. Consider play action?

Quote
Chargers @ Bears

Bears - It's interesting to see the Bears climb out of the hell... which they were in for a bit.

Quote
Eagles @ Giants (division)

Giants - With Vick being questionable... it won't help the Eagles chances.

Quote
Chiefs @ Patriots (Monday)

Pats - I kinda wanted to see Cassel in action... so many injuries on both sides.

Scores Ending Week 10:
Leno: 6-10
Gil: 7-9
Me: 7-9

Combined Scores Ending Week 10:
Mate: 19-13 (DNP weeks 3-10)
Gil: 72-61 (DNP week 5)
Leno: 86-60
Me: 91-55

Scores Going Into SNF Week 11:
Leno: 8-4
Gil: 8-4
Me: 8-4

Same picks for SNF+MNF, no lead changes will occur for that reason

Notes for games I've watched:
Bills @ Fish (CBS Early) - Boring beatdown - interesting to see on turkey day for the fish
Bengals @ Ravens (CBS Early bonus) - Dalton is interesting...
Bucs @ Packers (FOX Early) - Packers d is disappointing. Score was closer than it needed to be.
Chargers @ Bears (CBS Late) - Meh @ another beatdown
Titans @ Falcons (CBS Late bonus) - Didn't see much, but shocked at how this game was close with a backup QB (Jake Locker) making plays.
