Here's a video of an incomplete assembly mod of FF2us with the 9999 damage limit cap removed.  I'm still working on getting the full 5 digits to display...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBeBNUt6coc

Note: This video was taken with SNES9x.

The odd thing about this is there are two sets of damage limits, one is the global limit and the other is a specific skill/spell limit from such things as Throw/Dart and Meteo.

*edit*
Found both Meteo and Throw's limit.  Also, found the 999 MP max limit.  So now when you gain a level you can go beyond 999 MP--and the game makes it stick.

*edit 2*
I could use some help here getting the game to display more than 5 digits damage in battle--that's beyond my capabilities it seems.  :(

I had thought your editor was actually pretty stable. It isn't? My comment was moreso referring to Zyrthofar's editors that one version breaks equipment and the other version breaks monster stats. Your editor was a really nice start but was lacking some key information, the map properties thing is a wonderful change, the issue as you can imagine is that it doesn't say which map is which, the same follows with item shops and the like.

So your editor was a great start for its time. This new editor already provides simple and easy ways to modify things that used to require a hex editor (e.g. Weapon sprites in battle, commands, spell-sets, command effects for Medicine, Remember, etc.)

Your Treasure Editor is also a nice attempt. The only issue is documentation. I love that I can change treasure, but I don't know Where I'm changing Treasures.

I only jest in the reply.  Mine is probably 90% stable.  Some issues with the character editor sometimes copying character names on top of each other and the magic editor sometimes loves to screw with the spell icon.

Sad thing is I had a complete log of all the treasure chest and map locations but that has somehow disappeared over time.  I was working on a new editor but now with this one I'll just stop my progress.

An editor that's not in danger of throwing all your work against the wall breaking it to pieces?

Was this a shot at me?  :P

Game Modification Station / JCE3000GT.com now has an archive

I'm starting to put up some old emulation/romhacking type stuff for archival reasons.

LINK: http://www.jce3000gt.com/archive/

If anyone wants me to archive something (which will also get burned to DVD AND stored on a USB Flash drive in a fire/water proof box) please email it to me with the following subject line: "File(s) for JCE3000GT.com archive".  I will email you with confirmation when this is completed.

Email addy with anti-spam!

RL has been tough for most of 2011,

True words right here.  2011 was rather a shitty year for me with exception of getting married and building a house.  Everything else pretty much was crappy being unemployed most of the year.

2012 isn't turning out much better either actually...

partially found what I was looking for.

http://ubernes.com/

I could've sword I found a front end for bsnes that was similar at one time. maybe not.

I do enjoy the crt mode in this emulator, tho I wish it had the phosphor3x filter bsnes has.

That's pretty badass actually.  Now let's get one for the SNES, GameBoy and Genesis and I'll be completely satisfied.  :)

I doubt the world will miss a couple of these games, especially Mystic Quest considering hundreds of carts are sold each day on eBay.  I'm planning on buying carts with labels or carts in worn or bad shape that no one wants.  Flash carts won't work because I want an original look and they are expensive anyway.

Besides what your opinion is do you have any info that I requested?  Whether I pay someone or do it myself it will be done and it's my choice to do it.  :)

has anyone hacked FF1 to work like FF3 where if the target a character is aiming at dies, they automatically aim at the next target?

Didn't Disch locate that info a while back?  I would add that feature I'd someone locates it.  :)

*see thread title

I'd like to take some of carts and put my rom mods on them.  Example, put say Secret of Mana EasyType on an existing Secret of Mana cart.  Or Mystic Quest HardType on an MQ cart.

I have no experience with one if these and zero experience using a soldering gun...am I screwed?  I'd almost rather pay someone to do it for me.

Already done.  :). I can replace some of them myself.  The Dahling sprite can be damned.  I'm not jacking with those pointers.

If that's all you used, then two things you must know:
1) If you edit anything sprite-related, this patch must be done... first before any editing is done ...or else Very Bad Thingsâ„¢ (see above) will happen.
2) The patch is header only.

Um, I don't get it?  I read Lord J's readme on the graphics restore patch he had on his website and it didn't say anything like what you stated.

Do you have the offsets to fix the battle backgrounds or do I need to transplant my altered data (which is a lot) from my current ROM to a new fresh ROM and start over?

I have no idea how or why but most of my battle background graphics are glitched.  I wasn't editing any graphics except for using a patch that restored the Japanese monster sprites censored by Nintendo.  Those came out perfect...

Where are the offsets so I can copy/paste restore these from a clean unedited ROM in to mine?

Game Modification Station / Re: FF3us: Item type sort issue
« on: February 03, 2012, 01:27:12 PM »
Yeah, it can't handle item types, and just as well because those are a pain in the ass anyway. If you really wanted more types, they wouldn't be hard to hack in, but they aren't.

Actually I'm removing the item types.  Just don't want sort to remove my items.
