Final Fantasy IV: Playable Baigan Edition

I was talking with fedorajoe on Romhacking.net about this and he thought it was a great idea, and I want to know how to edit sprites for Final Fantasy 4, I only know how to do that with FF6

If you can do FF6 then you can do FF4, that is assuming you aren't just using tools to do the sprites for you. 

The character graphics and palettes are stored here:

68000 Overworld Character Palette Data
D0000 Battle Character Graphic Data (4bpp)
D8000 Overworld Character Graphic Data (3bpp)
E7D00 Battle Character Palette Data

You can use YYCHR or Tile Layer Pro to edit these graphics without too much effort.

I always thought Baigan had the potential to be quite an interesting character which the plot doesn't go very far to develop. I think this is a fantastic idea! Please keep us in the loop with how it goes.

I wouldn't keep my hopes up if I were you, I am new to romhacking and I'm gonna need more knowledge of it If I want to make it a reality.

Actually, now that I'm awake enough to say this, we should make this a group project. We could most likely get more work done faster. I could be a spriter. I just need to learn more.

I'm a little too bogged down with my own hack to get involved in another right now, but I'm happy to help you figure out how to do stuff if/when you ask. Grimoire LD's usually good for that kinda help, too.

When it comes to the technical side of things I can assist in various manners. If you'd like a new command, some spell routines changed up, etc. I'm pretty knowledgeable in that (as is Chillyfeez) when it comes to graphics or text displayed on the screen, that is not my forte.

If you have any specific information requests I can try and help you.
