I was just doing a little experement using all three of the sound files. I started off with the PSF version of the song.. then after the first loop ends i started playing the GSF version of the song, then after the second loop ended i Played the SPC version of the song.

After a few loops i noticed that one of the songs was way off to the other two.. so i listen closely, as i can tell which songs was which and the song sounds different in all 3 versions insturment wise and came to the point that the SNES version was slower than the PSX and GBA version of the song. It seems when the two ports we're made the songs we're speed up just a little.

I'mma go and see if this happens again.

 :edit:

This time i started off with the SPC version then worked my way to the GSF version.. Result is the same, the SPC version was out of sync again. Time to see about the time of the loops.

:edit: 2

Timing -

only played for 1 loop

SNES - 47 Secs
PSX - 47 Secs
GBA - 47 Secs

This test shows that the loops are the same.. but what is causing the SNES version to lag behind?

:edit: 3

This time i recorded the 3 songs into mp3's with 2 loops.. the first loop was correct, but during the second loop it desync.

:edit: 4

I recorded the 3 songs at a longer playtime. The SNES version lags behind first, then either the PSX or GBA lags second.. what's up with Tose, can't they port music right?

General Discussion / My video card died
« on: September 23, 2008, 01:08:24 PM »
Got up this morning and wanted to check some stuff before going out to mow, checked my email, then went to open up firefox, my video went away and came back all scrambled like.. then a few seconds later the monitor went off like it was getting no siginal.. so... i turned off the computer, then back on.. it look like it might of been a glitch, then while loading the video glitched again, and montior went back... So i decided to let it sit for a bit and get ready to mow.. turned it back on.. and video didn't come on.. got dad's monitor and it wouldn't light up either...

The video card was dead... So i'm now on my dad's computer.. and with the help of Aerdan i found a possible canidate for replacement:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125230

It's better than my old video card and cost a heck of alot less than what my ATI x800 GTO did.

Ok, the story about this song, when put into CT one of the instruments plays out of sync with the rest of the tune. so i decided to mess with the spc by changing certain hex code. i found the right address and worked with it and got it at least near perfect with the song.

here's both versions from Radical Dreamers and CT

Game Modification Station / Chrono Trigger Rebirth! NEW VIDEO OUT!
« on: December 05, 2007, 11:14:22 PM »
You should know what this is, a multi-rom hack for Chrono Trigger. I haven't worked on this for over a month now due to a few personal things. But I am starting back up on it. Anyway, here's a quick update that i had posted on the CC forums.

Yeah, alot's happened since the week after ChrisRPG's death, I've been working out my rump helping with dad's job, anyway. I've finally got back into a hacking mode. Right now i'm hacking Stat's well temporary stat changes. Stat's will go back to normal when you get back to Crono and company.

Ah who to start the stat hacking with.... lets see.... I'll start with David!

I've decided to give David a boost in HP, STR, STAM. To make him a tougher character than Crono for normal fighting, but.. David had a drop in MP, Magic and M. def. I also raised his Speed, Evade and Hit.

So i got two screenshots to post side by side. I also like to say, this was done in Temproal flux. It wasn't easy as i had to move all the stats around in memory...

I put them side to side to make sure you really notice the diffrence.

You may now discuss.

To tell you the truth, it's not easy doing this. :D But it's something to accomplish other than the 2 other simple hacks i made.

Gaming Discussion / FFIV DS and DQIV DS
« on: November 22, 2007, 01:38:19 PM »
The good news first. Final  Fantasy IV has been confirmed for a US release in the recent issue of Nintendo Power magazine, and it will be coming sometime in 2008.

Next we know Square enix has been translating DQIV to english and 4 other languages thanks to some rom hackers finding unfinished text for the game. So here's hoping for a US release.

Now the bad news, While we know FFIV is coming out here next year, we don't have a solid date yet, so it could be Christmas of next year before it comes out. (lets just hope it doesn't) And DQIV hasn't been officially annouced for a US release yet. Here's hoping both games come out soon next year.
