I wouldn't know exactly what's going on, but I presume there's some code that actually prints the text out, to some limit. You could try to see if the number 5 (in hex) is involved.

Those code is probably also shared with the Change and Parry command.. where the Change command is 5 letters plus some inserted "e'".

There's something wrong with one of the battle scripts.. either Xlom3000 or ????? (a Brachiosaur, monster #38)

The monster "throws a Blue Veil" for whatever reason, and that's glitchy in itself.

Additionally, there's something wrong with the formation, that it is causing a "bugged SrBehemoth" drop.

Here's a savestate, with the next battle being that formation -  http://rapidshare.com/files/139271992/FF3Hack3.7z.html

Noone has the answer to the question?

My guess currently is that the spell's normal effects have everything to do with where it is slotted...

Something I did remember.. other than the font difference than the previously released version (this one is nicer since it doesn't look as transparent), the strange ass dot bug isn't present, which is great.

Is there any enemy that uses Forcefield? I don't recall finding it in my old playthrough...

Heh @ fastracking your own patches.

Gaming Discussion / Re: FF3/6 - Monster Name Cleanup
« on: August 22, 2008, 02:46:33 AM »
Ok, when you input a command and that command ends up killing the monster, the monster name cleanup function generally gets invoked here and names should disappear after an entire group of the same monster are killed.

This cleanup tends to not be invoked when certain statuses end up killing the target, such as Seizure and Poison (and possibly Regen I think).

When killing a monster under Berserk status, monster name cleanup isn't being done.

Most importantly, do you get 2 Behemothsuits?

For weapons.. is the hidden weapon power (???) hardcoded to the weapon, or is that some bit that noone knows about.

For armor, some weapon/armor don't auto equip (like the Imp set of equipment) via Optimal. It doesn't seem to be triggered by the Imp bit, so are these hardcoded or are related to the same bit weapons use (the hidden weapon power bit) so they aren't auto-equipped?

When is that cleanup done? I figure it occurs after a character executes a command.

Like its predecessor's (FF4/5) battle engines, it doesn't properly update under some form of HP leak status. However, I found that they don't seem to update when a monster is killed via a character under Berserk status...

Is there something to the monster name cleanup call that I should understand better?

Well, the Veldt "fix" is annoying....

Normally, I do some Veldt scavenging for items (that means Gau get some Leap time, I mean, I'm crazy), and I do actually try to get the Snow Muffler because it's practically overpowered...

I don't see why Dispel isn't removing Berserk status... and I'm not talking about the stuff that is inflicted at the start of battle... because that's different obviously.

http://rapidshare.com/files/139178800/FF3Hack3.7z.html - The Behemoth needs to be beefed up... a lot.

btw, celes has rasp, but no one else does. i've gone through all the equipment trying to find ANYTHING that will teach it, but i can't. does she just learn it on her own? or does some piece of equipment do it?

It exists, but is more prevalent in the WOR.

I'm not quite sure that Celes having Rasp only was intended, then again, lots of things never seem intended...

1) Is there a patch to fix the item drop?

2) Is there a fix for the monster formation that is shown on the Veldt (pretty much something that FF6A has "fixed")?

That message seems strange when Gau isn't there...

Even though Strago is an easy pickup, the message itself is disturbing if you don't have him yet.

Best solution for the latter is saying "Strago would be saying/probably say  "blah blah Relm, it ain't happening"".

I guess that's more of my gripe with FF3USHT I guess.. given how the equipment is named. The idea would be handy in a way...
