Final Fantasy IV Research & Development / Re: FFIV bug list?

Yea, they did break (disable) the Siren in Easytype.

Well, until a new NFL thread is created, I'll bump this.

Did you miss the lockout? So we miss the HOF game... whoopdie fucking do.

On the other hand...

Leno, do you like this version of McNabb? Trade rumors abound! This is a terrible decision, especially after Tavaris Jackson leaves. If anyone saw the torture that was a Redskins game, he is not going to make magic as a Viking.

Also, the rumors of the Vikings moving because the lack of a new stadium deal (already done that for the Twins IIRC) is not a good thing... then again... what team has stayed in LA anyways? Sometimes the NFL is lame for these things...

Printscreen is what you're looking for if you want bigger screenshots. I do suggest that you use a smaller resolution (preferably a custom windowed one) and alt+printscreen (to simply capture the window data) so you don't have to do any sort of photochopping.

Gaming Discussion / Re: Possible new project - AI script discussion
« on: June 29, 2011, 12:38:51 AM »
M-TekArmor:

There's a script in the M-TekArmor bit that counters any Magic spell that strikes an M-TekArmor to cause the M-M-M-Magic cutscene (but only one time). However, starting the first battle with M-TekArmors, this scene will play in any battle (Leaver, Bleary, Hornet, what have you) and it's triggered by any casting of Magic, be it offensive or curative (though the cutscene leans towards Terra performing some destructive act). So this is just a bit of useless AI script...?

The script operates if it hasn't been triggered yet starting from the "boss" M-tek battle (which is triggered either before or when the battle starts). I would lean towards an event driven battle script hybrid.

on the subject of things Grid/peep/cry/boast etc

can i assign a spell gfx to these?

Gird (Yang's self-Protect spell command) probably can be altered because it is a spell. I'm not sure if Peep can (I assume it can).

Quote
i do not see the data listed for these only their behaviors. it would be nice to be able to chanage cry/and peep particularly
and i also dont see the info for dark wave anyway, suppose i wanted to change the damage it does or how much it drains from the user. is there more information im missing somewhere?

Cry+Boast would probably require you to change their animation properties at the very minimum. I'm not sure if there needs to be a lot more "under the hood work" on them.

Dark Wave has to be from some sort of "spell animation" that is undocumented as of yet.

As for altering the formulas... you should consider running a debugger and trace the output. All the documented parameters of how the stuff works has been listed... just not the actual addresses of where the code deals with it.

It's actually very easy... you can insert the spell in many different ways (initial spell list, learning - through Black/Ninja magic, events).

The question you want to ask yourself is if you want to suffer from the bugs inherent with the spell (mostly ATB related).

There are commands that act like a spell (like Gird, Pray, Medicine, and maybe Cid's Peep?) that you can use to do it.

However, I would recommend that you use another spell than the original (since the original is pretty potent, unless you plan to replace the original) and you increase the timer to compensate for the fact that the default properties allow it to be a boss killer (Zeromus EG and the FatalEyes come to mind).

You can do it however you want though...

Well, when I mean filtering, you should be able to login and /ignore total dumbasses at the very least. When you're not logged in, anything goes.

IIRC, I once wrote, filter/vote down dumbass posters.

The spells are real from the Dark Elf. That is an effect of chained attacks (other than the regular 2 straight attacks). For the "spells" that the Dark Elf casts, subtract 48 from the spell to derive the original spell that is being multitargeted.

Another rare one is the FF4ET version with the Red Dragon. The monster chains Heat Ray with a regular attack.

568
There is some linkage in a sense in how they did all that. I believe they did that to increase the spell power of the summon, but I could be wrong on that.

You can't make monsters use summons, but in its place, you have the spell targeting to all character/enemies... this is how the Dark Elf operates its listed spell attacks.

569
I'm not sure what you're asking.

If you're talking about the item descriptions for summons, I believe that is broken. If someone ever figures a way to fix that, please post a patch for it.
