A couple new problems, seeking help
« on: March 01, 2011, 08:13:09 PM »
Problem #1
I'm having great trouble getting my character, (Banon) to change to palette #6 on the save screen. There seems to be an option for this in FF3usME, but it is not fixing it.

I have changed his palette that it loads at the Returner Base to $16, or palette #6,
(CA/FDC7: 43    Assign palette $16 to character $0E (Actor in stot 14)
and everything is all set and good for his palette swap, but the save screen is still showing #3.  :banonsmash:

And here, I don't know what the heck happened, but I somehow got it from palette #3, to #0 here unintentionally. Again, I am not sure how this happened. I'm now wondering if he shares his save screen palette with someone else, or if I'm missing something??

Hopefully someone has the answer for this and can cure me of this unsightly issue.

Problem #2
My second question has to do with a seriously dire problem I'm having with more than a couple bosses not dropping their items anymore upon death. Most of them do, but some in the WoR are not. Obviously I have checked to make sure that the items are ready to be dropped in both the rare and normal category. Most of the ones that are doing it are the ones I have put into chests, (monster-in-a-box!) so I think that has something to do with it, but I don't see why, or how... And some are custom bosses, that were not regularly supposed to be played, like the Colossus. But the Czar Dragon drops his item, so I'm very confused. I'd really like to have this problem solved asap, so I can sleep at night!

What editor is that? Looks better than the ones I've got.
My FF3usME doesn't have those options! (6.7 or something - beta)

No, there isn't.

It was either darkmage or metroidquest that approached me with this problem a year ago. Zeemis's death loop script is the cause. Clear out the nonsense and your monsters will drop items again.

119 bugs fixed and counting.

Is it possible that the save screen only has access to palettes 0 through 6?  I seem to recall there being some sort of limitation that kept the character palettes within that range, but I may just be thinking of something else entirely.

No, there isn't.

So the option "Use the same indexes as the battle one" [for] "Save Screen / Shops Palette Indexes" isn't what he's looking for?  FWIW, I tried it and it worked as expected.

Thank you very much! Wow, I never would have guessed that.

Yeah, that was the option I did check and save, because it looked to me like it would to exactly what I wanted and make his save screen palette into the same as battle, which is now 6, but it did not. I'm still not sure how I got it to change at all on the save screen from 3, to 0.

Since there's only 3 bits available for the palette, yes, it's likely you'll get cut off with 7 and beyond.

Strange, didn't think he put that in. :isuck:
