Someone probably figured that Rydia would be better than Rosa as a spellcaster.

Unfortunately, that's true by design.

The editor was incomplete AFAIK.

Well, by comparison, Tellah's the suckiest thing since the lollipop.

This we knew.  :)

Cid usually gets in one attack, sometimes it's useful, sometimes not.

Ironically.. Tellah's finest hours post-twins leaving. He's actually on par with Cid by this time IMO....

Cid's attack is mainly powered by his Strength. Instead of complaining/focusing about his Tellah-ish Agility (I've gotten to used to that friggen old man) that improving his attack multiplier makes him far more viable. The Headband increases Str by 5 and the Kenpogi increases Str by 3.. which is simply +1 to the attack multiplier. He instantly becomes right up there with Cecil in the attack multiplier department... so his damage output becomes far more tangible than his early level crappiness.

He's more useful in the magnetic cave since Cecil is forced to suck, he just goes painfully slowly versus the ogres in there.

Try Holy arrows so Cecil is a decent fighter (not great mind you, but it increases his overall damage potential against most of the enemies)... you could do the same for Cid I guess but I dunno.. the hammer has a nicer hit rate.

Here's the supplemental thread: http://slickproductions.org/forum/index.php?topic=401.0

Since Lightning (and other elementals) are not affected, damage intake will be at a constant of 1 if such protection is added to the equipment with the Immune property.

Also, Immune status for equipment automatically implies 99% evade. I do not believe any such bonus is applied to the enemy's Immune status. Unfortunately this new development suggests that the stupid FF4A devs botched the Glass Helm/Mask.

2915
If you combine Fire+Ice resistance in the form of Ice Armor+Fire Shield or Fire Armor+Ice Shield, you should be resistant to both elementals. This is half true.

If an physical attack were to contain fire or ice elemental (Yang's claws for instance), you would take 2x damage.

If you follow my rules on elemental physical weakness, this is still true with character equipment. What's worse is that this behavior extends to the Protect Ring, Adamant Armor, Dragoon armor set, Crystal Helmet, and other equipment and combos that protect against Fire+Ice elementals.

That's something to think about if you are planning on using elemental attacks on enemies in a hack.

2916
Ok.. the immune property works somewhat the same.. yet different.. I'll post an addendum as a separate post.

2917
Ok, I've applied ice+fire immunity to other enemies and they seem to exhibit the same behavior as Darkness elemental vs Zombies.

I can almost safely assume that this can apply to the Immune Property on your own equipment as well...

2918
I've tested enemy attacks and they definately can handle elemental attacking. It would be interesting to say the least in a new hack.

It almost makes no sense why the game devs did not put a warning on Edward's FF4A armor or Porom's Cat Hood in terms of resistance...

2919
The problem with Cid is not his damage; he typically equals Cecil, or almost.  It's not even his crappy defense (which is crappy).  It's his speed.  Cid is slower than molasses running uphill.  By the time he gets to take an action, Cecil and Yang have already cleaned house.

Well, by comparison, Tellah's the suckiest thing since the lollipop.

I've noted his speed trouble, but I've never had that as an issue since he almost always goes 3rd for me, and just when I need him the most. He still goes in turn for me and I personally don't mind.

Cid @ level 25, post Magnetic Cave:

Cecil at some high level, I forget how high...

Cid @ level 28, during Tower of Zot:

Cecil at the same place:

People who continue to say that Cid sucks is ignorant. Sure he takes a crapload of damage, but that's what leveling up and massive HP growth is for. He competes well against Cecil at lower levels too.

I just realized that you missed a spell entry (Hold)... oh well.

2922
I'll have to test what happens when an enemy does it... however, I found this to be interesting.

Remember how the Dark Elf is weak vs Holy physical attacks and absorbs Holy magic attacks?

Well, the same occurs with Ice Shield+Fire Armor or Fire Shield+Ice Armor combos.. although the only test was using the Icebrand as a weapon on Cecil himself.  There was a clear damage difference (2x increase) with that combo equipped... testing the Icebrand strictly on the Fire Shield+Armor resulted in a 2x reduction of damage.. and testing the Icebrand on the Silver Shield+Armor resulted in no extra base damage. So, it does affect your characters as well. I'll have to test it with enemies... and test it with Weak+ as well and see if there's a difference.

It doesn't occur with enemy type weaponry vs enemy type armor though (as the character is obviously not of that type after all).

You should be able to download a copy of that file if you google it.

Your username is unique, which I have to say is something that is are, almost a lost art nowadays.

If I had to spell it, I'd be screwed.  :bah:

:wtf: indeed, they actually count the spinning animation as movement?

That's probably the reason. It doesn't occur in FF4A though.

There's an audio confirmation for stepping on a damage tile.. so while the audio for exiting the dungeon is taking place, you hear audio cues that tell you that multiple damage tiles are being stepped on.
