Anyone seen this? It's apparently a Final Fantasy Tactics Hard Type. I remember when myself, JCE and a few others were going to work on something like this but compression or something got in our way of actually doing it.

http://www.ffhacktics.com/patches.php

Looks like there's patches I can download... but I get some other list of links when I click stuff.
It's a bit confusing. I didn't get any hacks from the site but the idea is awesome. I want to try Mercenaries or Symbols of Rage.

I remember, we got as far as to edit text and some graphics if memory serves.  The website used to be called www.finalfantasytactics.org

Yeah, the psx tales of phantasy crew unlocked a lot of this stuff back in the day.

Currently though, I'm totally hooked on Valkyria Chronicles. It's FFT on crack

Being a member of FFHacktics, I can act as a bridge of sort. GrimoireLD also belongs there. There are a ton of awesome tools to check out there, including the FFTPatcher, which can edit basically any gameplay facet of FFT. There's also a text editor, event decompiler, and a map editor (work in progress). So yeah, there's a ton of stuff to play with.

What about those seemingly existing hacks? How do I play them? The supposed links give me like 10~20 links. I couldn't really find proper instructions. Does having only the PS1 CD impair my ability to play them?

Typically, people who play the hacks play it on an emulator on their computers. From what I understand certain hacks can't be used on the PSX because of the way they're made. If you let me know which hack you want to play, I can give you a direct link. To play them, though, you'll need PPF-o-Matic, which will patch the patch to an ISO.

Sadly, neither of those are very complete. The demos are very outdated, and have quite a few glitches.

For PPF-o-Matic, just download it here: http://www.ffhacktics.com/downloads.php?id=12

Regarding torrenting it, it would probably be best to get the US version of it. That's the base we use on the site to edit it. Coolrom.com is a great site to go to for downloading it.

If the two I wanted to play are 'broken'ish, what would you recommend?
