Hmmm.. after killing a number of Pinkpuffs now in FF4ET.. is it me or is the frequency of drops increase for just that battle?

I can't confirm the Siren being disabled in Easy Type though, I've never even tried using one in it.

Hack it into your item list and try to use it.

Edit: They can also be found in the rooms in the screenshots I've attached.

You know, those rooms are where the White/Holy Robe and Minerva Robes are... which might actually make "some" sense in terms of enemy placement (pretty much the "Flan Princesses" guard the women's ultimate equipment)...

I believe the Alert item is actually disabled in FF4ET (yet not disabled in FF2)... feel free to confirm/refute this point...

The Pinkpuff aka Flan Princess seems to have relocated in the Lunar Subterrain. Its normal "breeding ground" is that little side cave on floor B5. However, I don't think that monster group exists there... instead.. I've actually encoutered it in a different location... In the area where you have three openings along a row.. one is a save point, the other is the Holy Spear area, and the other is the dual Ribbon area. I've found the Pinkpuff in the dual Ribbon area...

So, I'm wondering... are there any other locations of the Pinkpuff in FF2/4 other than the small area on floor F5? Can you confirm my finding of the Pinkpuff location in FF4ET? Are there any other locations of the Pinkpuff in FF4ET?

This should be a "near" perfect list of changes...

Bow: 10 attack, 40% hit rate
CrossBow: 20 attack, 45% hit rate
Coral Sword: 4x to spirits, thunder elemental, 45 attack, 99% hit rate
Piggy's Stick: inflict piggy status, 51 attack, 99% hit rate
Great Bow: 30 attack, 50% hit rate, +3 STR
Blood Spear: drain elemental, 64 attack, 99% hit rate, -10 to all stats
Dwarf Axe: 4x to mages, 70 attack, 90% hit rate, +5 STR, VIT, -5 AGI, WIS, WILL
Killer Bow: 40 attack, 60% hit rate, +5 STR
Blood Sword: drain elemental, 77 attack, 80% hit rate, -5 to all stats
Ogre Axe: 4x to giants, 96 attack, 90% hit rate, +5 STR
Elven Bow: 4x to mages, 50 attack, 85% hit rate, +5 WIS
Avenger Sword: 100 attack, 99% hit rate, +10 STR, AGI, VIT, -10 WIS, WILL
Poison Axe: 4x to giants, inflict poison status, 105 attack, 90% hit rate
Yoichi's Bow: 60 attack, 70% hit rate, +10 STR
Rune Axe: 4x to mages, 120 attack, 90% hit rate
Dark Robe: 24 defense, 15 magic defense, 70% evade, +5 AGI
Minerva Robe: 20 defense, 5 magic defense, 40% evade, +10 STR, AGI, VIT
Ribbon: 9 defense, 12 magic defense, 12% evade, absorb fire, ice, lit
Artemis Bow: 4x to dragons, 80 attack, 80% hit rate, +10 STR, AGI, VIT, -10 WIS, WILL

One thing worth pointing out, all of the axes clearly have been tweaked (and for good reason I might add)... particularly the Dwarf Axe... especially since it was better than the Flame weaponry.. until you got the Ice weaponry... but even then, it was still very effective against Chimeras which annoy me to death with their "Ice flame" attack.

I would like a check on the Piggy Stick and Coral Sword's hit rates.. just in case (my brain is a mess at the moment..)

Edit: Updated info

Sorry, I wouldn't have been able to guess the Axes because you'd have to be damn lucky to get a Rune Axe under level 36:tongue:

I should've paid attention to the typo for the Minerva Robe...

Is the Poison Axe info correct then?

I think it is worth extracting this list.. to smack people over the head as to why FF4ET is certainly different than FF2 US.

Offtopic: What really bugs me is when people say that FF2us was FF4ET with some stuff changed.  Its just not.  Just like FFMQ was here first before the Jpn release.

Would you care to clarify?

Well he says: "Items Dropped (Easytype Version)", so I assumed he meant FF4ET.

You do realize that he fell into the same mistake to interchange FF4ET with FF2...

Ok, here's a "near" complete list of  equipment changes.. let me know if there's any missing that probably should be looked into (mostly the rare stuff is
that tough to get).. and for confirmation (especially with some of the weapon hit rates). This list is in the order you most likely will get the weapons...

Bow: 10 attack, 40% hit rate
CrossBow: 20 attack, 45% hit rate
Coral Sword: 4x to spirits, thunder elemental, 45 attack, 99% hit rate
Piggy's Stick: inflict piggy status, 51 attack, 99% hit rate
Great Bow: 30 attack, 50% hit rate, +3 STR
Blood Spear: drain elemental, 64 attack, 99% hit rate, -10 to all stats
Killer Bow: 40 attack, 60% hit rate, +5 STR
Blood Sword: drain elemental, 77 attack, 80% hit rate, -5 to all stats
Ogre Axe: 4x to giants, 96 attack, 99% hit rate?, +5 STR
Elven Bow: 4x to mages, 50 attack, 85% hit rate, +5 WIS
Avenger Sword: 100 attack, 99% hit rate, +10 STR, AGI, VIT, -10 WIS, WILL
Poison Axe: 4x to giants, inflict poison status, 105 attack, 99% hit rate?
Yoichi's Bow: 60 attack, 70% hit rate, +10 STR
Rune Axe: 4x to mages, 120 attack, 99% hit rate?
"Dark Suit": 24 defense, 15 magic defense, 70% evade, +5 AGI
Minerva Robe: 20 defense, 4 magic defense, 40% evade, +10 STR, AGI, VIT
Artemis Bow: 4x to dragons, 80 attack, 80% hit rate, +10 STR, AGI, VIT, -10 WIS, WILL

Some notes and commentary:
All bows get a 10% hit rate boost...
The Blood weaponry is rebalanced and are really nice (though personally the Blood Spear should be stronger...
The Ogre Axe really can beat the living crap out of other Ogres :P
The rebalanced Avenger Sword can kick the crap outta shit than the original...
Poison Axe isn't as inferior as it was before.. but not by much..
Rune Axe actually doesn't seem like a small damage bump this time around..
Dark Suit currently now counters the adverse AGI drop of the Murasame, instead of a slight drop.
Minerva does slightly worse stat boosts while having no adverse effects (though, I will still end up having Rydia equip the Sorceror's Robe anyways for more magic defense) which is helpful when it comes to boosting Rosa's crappy stats..
Artemis Bow is simply the weapon it should have been long ago... this combined with the retweaked Minerva is the ultimate combo I would prefer instead of the FF2/4/4A POS.

Those lists are for FF4 and FF2, not FF4ET. I'm serious when I say that the item drops are different (mostly a semi-combined effort of both FF2+4 for most existing enemies).. really, I think you should take a real look.

For a start, take a look at the Blackcat enemy (FF2 name, Tower of Babel enemy via Eblan Cave) in FF4ET. It drops one of the Apples (I forget which). Also, take a look at the Clapper enemy (FF2 name, a summoned monster in the Land of Summoned Monsters)... it seems to strictly drop Cure3 potions (X-Potions or whatever you prefer to call them).

Well, it's like 10% (maybe 20%) of the game that's changed. Obviously you play the game the same for the most part.. but the differences become apparently moreso late game... and certainly once you get the Coral Sword, you know it wasn't just "changes for the sake of changes".

Maybe it's just me, but the majority of the weapon/armor tweaks should have been used in FF4A (most of these tweaks are balanced)... because a number of them don't really shine at all.. just crappy for the most part.

Final Fantasy IV Research & Development / FF4ET Enemy Item Drops...
« on: December 17, 2007, 03:56:55 PM »
Even after all this time, there isn't a document that lists what the enemies drop in Easytype. The drop list is a hybrid of FF2/4 as far as I can tell, but some drops are much more ridiculous.. such as easy to harvest Golden Apples by Kuars and obscene numbers of Grimore drops.

I think it is worth extracting this list.. to smack people over the head as to why FF4ET is certainly different than FF2 US.

Try it against enemy type weakness.

It is worth pointing out that if you do poor damage (1x whatever), you will be doing essentially be doing 0 damage aka Miss!
