I was an avid gamefaqs user/contributor too, but because of this, I've opted to remove all my guides and completely abandon the website. There are very few communities worth visiting anymore, but I think this one is still fine :P

No, it hurts people who still put up with GameFAQs' bullshit and keep using their site. My guide is still up on other sites, just not GameFAQs, because I have boycotted GameFAQs and it's an encouragement for other people to do the same.

Gamefaqs is the most vocal of stupidity sites, but that's due to longevity and popularity.

Other sites like say Neoseeker are very similar, but they simply have a smaller signal to noise ratio.

Seriously, unless someone at Gamefaqs became totally retarded on you (probably the mods), then there really isn't any benefit to the rest of us that go there.

The best way to use GameFAQ forums is to only read the original post, reply and never check back to people who've replied to you.
It does have a nice Secrets guide most of the time.

- "finally"?  no, there have been plenty of logical anti-ebmid responses, including the essence of this one, but they get lost in the billion iterations of the billion-post topics.  still, i agree bover_87 does a good job here, and is succinct.  it's a good idea for him to do that in Answers, since a giant, circular argument can't erupt there.

i just stopped over there like an hour ago and was pretty surprised to see ebmid and that livinlarav guy still posting lots over there.  livin has always been a troll in the like 3 or 4 years he's been there, and ebmid has always been a fucking idiot.  you would think that people would get that by now and at least ignore them, but the massive "debates" (debate isn't the right word for a half dozen idiots who won't shut up and just constantly argue in circles- with prompting from livin and ebmid)  just continue.
