General Discussion / Re: NFL season (2009-2010), week 1

Redskins @ Falcons

Falcons - Redskins are the biggest expensive joke.

Quote
Cardinals @ Bears

Cards - There's something wrong with the Bears... and it might simply be Cutler. I'm not entirely sure of the pick tbh.

Quote
Ravens @ Bengals (division)

Bengals - The bye week should help out the Bengals quite a bit...

Quote
Texans @ Colts (division)

Colts - Texans might be better than they were before, but not here.

Quote
Dolphins @ Patriots (division)

Pats - This is a critical week, and the bye week should help the Pats.

Quote
Packers @ Buccaneers

Packers - Bucs for 0-16!

Quote
Chiefs @ Jaguars

Chiefs - The bye week might edge an upset here...

Quote
Lions @ Seahawks

Seahawks - Go figure.

Quote
Panthers @ Saints (division)

Saints - Saints are much mroe complete team than the Panthers

Quote
Chargers @ Giants

Chargers - After seeing a number of awful Giants games, I don't see how the Chargers throw over their defense.

Quote
Titans @ 49'ers

49ers - This should be a good rebounding game for the 49ers after losing a close game to the Colts.

Quote
Cowboys @ Eagles (division)

Eagles - This game should be close and interesting.

Quote
Steelers @ Broncos

Steelers - The bye week should help the Steelers immensely.

Texans @ Bills

Texans - I'm not sure if the Bills have anything offensively.

Quote
Browns @ Bears

Bears - Bears are struggling, but the Browns will cure all that ails them... for a game.

Quote
Seahawks @ Cowboys

Cowboys - Seahawks still have a number of issues... not sure you can fix that .

Quote
Rams @ Lions

Lions - Here's to hoping for a back-to-back 0-16 season, with a different team.

Quote
Vikings @ Packers (division)

Packers - Let me repeat: I HATE FAVRERERERERERE.

Quote
49'ers @ Colts

Colts - Colts are a much more complete team.

Quote
Dolphins @ Jets (division)

Dolphins - This is a rooting move, but the Dolphins season is on the line for the next two games in the division.

Quote
Broncos @ Ravens

Bronocs - I'd rather the Broncos lose, but both teams are coming of byes, and this normally favors the Ravens because of the home field advantage...

Quote
Raiders @ Chargers (division)

Chargers - Raiders still suck.

Quote
Jaguars @ Titans (division)

Jags - Although both are coming off bye weeks, I think the Jags would play better.. especially with Vince Young playing QB this week.

Quote
Giants @ Eagles (division)

Giants - I see the Giants bouncing back after a pair of losses.. and the Eagles probably won't be as effective w/o Westbrook.

Quote
Panthers @ Cardinals

Cards - The Panthers are still pathetic...

Quote
Falcons @ Saints

Saints - I'm not sure what the Falcons would be able to do defensively to stop the Saints.

Despite not wanting an IRC channel, I'd rather see DB on IRC.

This didn't dawn on me until I experimented with damage+status attacks further.

It seems that if a spell has a status attached to it AND targets every character, it will ALWAYS have a spell multiplier of at least 1 AFTER even after the spell multiplier reduction due to the magic defense multiplier.

It's related to why Dr. Lugae is always able to distribute Poison to all targets (excluding the fact that Poison resistance is not working properly in the SNES versions).

As an aside, you can apply other statuses just fine with this property, particularly Piggy, Toad, and Mini, to continue to set those statuses on the targets, instead of the normal reversion process that usually occurs.

 :edit:
Added new stuff clarifying about how the spell multiplier is involved.

Note:  It's different in FF4A Euro/Jap 1.1 version where poison resistance prevent spells like Poison or the Dr. Lugeie's Poison Gas attack to fail altogether.

Gamefaqs is the most vocal of stupidity sites, but that's due to longevity and popularity.

Other sites like say Neoseeker are very similar, but they simply have a smaller signal to noise ratio.

Seriously, unless someone at Gamefaqs became totally retarded on you (probably the mods), then there really isn't any benefit to the rest of us that go there.

Bears @ Bengals

Bengals - I see the Bengals bouncing back from the loss.. and the Bears are still trying to find their offensive identity... from that SNF loss.

Quote
Packers @ Browns

Packers - Browns are still the joke of a team.

Quote
Chargers @ Chiefs

Chargers - Despite losing on MNF, the Chiefs are a worse team.

Quote
Colts @ Rams

Colts - Nothing to see here.

Quote
49'ers @ Texans

49ers - Coming off a bye week should be more than enough to beat the lame Texans.

Quote
Vikings @ Steelers

Steelers - My hatred for Favre (not the Vikings) and Polamalu being back should help a lot in stopping the gambler.

Quote
Patriots @ Buccaneers

Pats - Cheerio!

Quote
Bills @ Panthers

Panthers - The Bills have shown nothing offensively... the Panthers still have one of the best running games around, so that should help....

Quote
Jets @ Raiders

Raiders - The Raiders are terrible, but the Jets aren't playing well either, especially with the loss of their NT, that will hurt them significantly.. plus there's a west coast trip to boot.

Quote
Saints @ Dolphins

Saints - There's a chance that the Saints will lose.. and the Dolphins are coming off a bye week, but the Saints are a much better team... even though they are a dome team.

Quote
Falcons @ Cowboys

Cowboys - I think this will be temporary for the Cowboys... the Falcons are not a good a road team, so that should be a major factor.

Quote
Cardinals @ Giants

Giants - The Giants will rebound after their embarrassing loss to the Saints... and their defensive pressure can be very good.. to the point of embarrassing the Cards like the Colts did.

Quote
Eagles @ Redskins (division)

Eagles - After their embarrassing loss last week, the Eagles will rebound. The Redskins are an overall disfunctional team, especially with the hiring of a new offensive coordinator or consultant or whatever.

I thought about this for a little bit.

There has to be something in the code to force certain formations to have the hidden summon formation. There are also formations like the Trapdoor and Elementals battle where you have hidden formations that are built on sacrifice. Maybe if you look for the code that triggers that behavior, you would be able to create any formation to "summon" the monster of your choice.

Texans @ Bengals

Bengals - lol @ Texans, seriously

Quote
Lions @ Packers (division)

Packers - The Lions still aren't good.

Quote
Ravens @ Vikings

Ravens - Despite losing their cool last week, the Ravens will make it up to force Brett Favre to revert to his true colors.

Quote
Giants @ Saints

Saints - Saints are coming off a bye and are at home... but this should be a pretty damn good game.

Quote
Browns @ Steelers (division)

Steelers - The Browns are still a bunch of lol.

Quote
Panthers @ Buccaneers (division)

Panthers - If noone sees this game, did it even happen?

Quote
Chiefs @ Redskins

Chiefs - The Redskins are simply not that good... and despite the Chiefs not really being that much better, this is the only oddball upset I could come up with.

Quote
Rams @ Jaguars

Jags - The Rams are bad, period.

Quote
Cardinals @ Seahawks (division)

Seahawks - Something says the Cards will struggle here... for whatever the reason.

Quote
Eagles @ Raiders

Eagles - Raiders are still a big joke.

Quote
Titans @ Patriots

Pats - The Titans will be tough, despite being 0-5. It will be a close game.

Quote
Bills @ Jets (division)

Jets - The Bills are still a bad team... despite having TO.

Quote
Bears @ Falcons

Bears - The Bears are coming off a bye, so they should have a fair chance against the Falcons.

Quote
Broncos @ Chargers (divsion)

Chargers - This may be a closer game than originally though... the Chargers run defense is awful without their starting NT, but the Broncos are coming off a high after beating the Pats... it's a tough call, so the home team has a slight advantage for now I guess.

Is there any notable behavior with Lit Arrows on Machines?

I think there would be an increased chance of critical hits or something along those lines (perhaps increased attack power?).

It would make sense since that would be most beneficial late game with all the machines (with the Evilmask at the top of the list).

Also, I'd be grateful if you changed the author's name to my most recent username, vivify93. GameFAQs is really the only place I still go as 51793Moeman, and that's only 'cause the morons don't trust you if you don't have over 9000 karma.

That's why it's a horrible joke.

Browns @ Bills

Bills - Can you take the Browns seriously?

Quote
Cowboys @ Chiefs

Cowboys - This might be closer, since the Cowboys aren't that good. Why am I forced to watch this???

Quote
Vikings @ Rams

Vikings - Rams are a joke... still rebuilding.

Quote
Raiders @ Giants

Giants - Why am I forced to watch this... there is no greatness of the Raiders.

Quote
Buccaneers @ Eagles

Eagles - The Bucs need to rebuild.. as simple as that.

Quote
Steelers @ Lions

Steelers - I see the Lions putting up some kind of a fight, but... they are still rebuilding.

Quote
Redskins @ Panthers

Panthers - The Panthers are coming off a bye, so that should help them against the struggling Redskins.

Quote
Bengals @ Ravens (division)

Ravens - I expect the Ravens bounce back from the loss.

Quote
Falcons @ 49'ers

49ers - Despite the Falcons having a bye week, the 49ers are much better as a team overall.

Quote
Jaguars @ Seahawks

Seahawks - A West Coast trip doesn't really help the inconsistent Jags.

Quote
Texans @ Cardinals

Cards - After coming off a bye and a disastrous loss to the Colts, the Cards will obliterate the Texans.

Quote
Patriots @ Broncos

Pats - It will be a close game, but it should be the most fascinating game of the day.

Quote
Colts @ Titans (division)

Colts - Who thought the SNF game would end up being an 4-0 team vs an 0-4 team?

Quote
Jets @ Dolphins (division)

Jets - After being embarrassed last week, I expect the Jets to beat the Dolphins... it's strange why that is.

Pandora's Box / Re: Suggestions
« on: October 10, 2009, 06:35:21 PM »
Here's a suggestion I had thought of, but I have no idea how much work would be required (it probably is a lot).

Gau's Rages only replicate the weapon-visuals that the enemy uses in battle. Gau normally equips nothing unless he has the Merit Award.

It would be interesting if Gau's weapon-visuals would actually reflect the weapons that he is emulating in terms of their properties.

For instance, the Templar monster IIRC uses a Trident as a weapon. When Gau uses his rage, he would inherit the weapon property of a Trident (it being water elemental) and attack enemies like that.
Gau would not gain the attack power of the weapon, nor the stat bonuses of it. He would only gain the elemental and random magic attack property (and other special weapon effects).

The basic idea is to override his fists property, but not if he has a weapon equipped (via the Merit Award or whatever).
