Dynasty Warriors 6:
I love my button-masher. Just trying to unlock everyone by beating it on easy. I'm wondering if I can get one of those good horses but GameFAQ has these stupid 'tricks' I never use to getting them. They don't seem to be true uniques either. More of a fan dubbing them a certain name in likeness to old horses.
Urgh, I unlocked Lu Bu and of course, he sucks when I use him and he's a friggin' clown raping nazi when he's an opponent.

I've been considering playing through HL2 again. I kind of rushed it the first time because I was eager to get on with the story, and everyone says there are tons and tons of little details you have to go out of your way to find. I started The Citizen a few nights ago, but I've had too many other distractions the past few days to play it.

Oh yeah, I never posted about it but I finally finished Episode 2 the other day. I had played up to the very end where you have to defend the rocket from the striders and got frustrated there. After loading up my save I had absolutely no problem with that section though, so I don't know why I had so much trouble with it before.

I've beaten Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, and I'm now started on Challenge Mode, basically a harder New Game + with added stuff, mostly bonus content ala unlocked stuff like a sketchbook. There are some gameplay alterations aside from the increased difficulty, though. You can get stronger versions of each weapon, and the two Arenas have an extra challenge or two.

Dynasty Warriors 6:
Unlocked everyone. Scored a lucky uber horse. It's 3 speed away from being perfect with the best skills attached to it too. Not sure how to rig that time trick. I tried it once and it failed. Didn't care to try it again. Read about 1-2 good strategies on how to train horses fast and acquire 'good' weapons for level 1 characters.
I wish there were unique weapons. Everything I find is so generic anyway. I wonder if there's DLC or something. :P

Octomam beat me when he really shouldn't have--and on battle speed 3 too.  I'm just not interested in playing this game anymore without cheating.  Anyone got any DS Action Replay codes?

I, personally thoroughly enjoyed ff4ds. it was pretty much exactly what I wanted in an ff4 remake.

I just started on some indy rpg that takes a lot of flair from CT called Black Sigil. The story seems promising but I can't stand the bland music and the fact that when you get into a battle, the screen fades to black then comes back up with a battle (with more forgettable music). No battle transition or anything. Makes it hard to tell if you actually made it to that town or if you got into a battle a half a step away. Apparently it's been in development at a small studio for about 4 years now but there are some areas where it just doesn't feel polished. I've even managed to get the game stuck in some kind of infinite loop already (I checked an item early on after having checked it again and the character just sat there while npcs continued to move around and the music kept playing). I may be being too harsh on it... gonna keep giving it a chance for now.

On the topic of HL2, I'm using Cinematic Mod 10 beta. I gotta say, it's really awesome. People keep complaining about the Adriana Lima Alyx model, but I feel it grows on you... now I couldn't play without it. (he has added a high-res version of the original Alyx model now though)

I'm not sure I like some of the changes FakeFactory is making for the maps for the final release though... In the beta only the textures are changed as far as I know... . but now he's adding a giant bridge by where you get the car for the first time. *ugh*

I think I'm sticking to the beta if he doesn't make stuff like that optional.

I can't get into it at all. I'm liking the story so far (the tiny bit I've experienced), but the incredibly slow battles (on the fastest setting), paired with the incredibly slow walking speed on the world map and high encounter rate is really getting on my nerves. I agree about the lack of battle transitions being annoying, but I have another gripe with the world map. It's way too easy to get "stuck" on a town and reenter it over and over again before you finally get off of it.

 :edit:

I forgot to mention, the dialogue text's formatting is atrocious. This is something I've always taken great care with in Pandora's Box, and any RPG hack I've done, so it really irritates me to see the devs having so little care about the presentation of their story. They have linebreaks in odd places, single words on a line by themselves, single words on a page by themselves, etc. It looks very bad, I noticed it in their screenshots and trailers but I figured things like that would be cleared up before release.

I haven't gotten stuck on a town yet, but apparently, the battle speed option doesn't work. It always seems to be the same speed to me.

The text box formating is retarded. Was it necessary for them to put the name in the box and indent ALL the space for EVERY line? Am I the only one that hates the music? I see other people wanting the OST... Why? It has a bland +1 sound track. So far I haven't made it past the spirit temple because that's where I locked the game last night. All I did was check the crystal again after sleeping in the beds there.

I couldn't even remember the music until I played it again. I don't think it's bad, but I don't think it's anything special either, I've forgotten it again already.

I played a bit farther, one thing that bugs me about this battle system is that what enemies you can hit seems completely illogical at times. It makes sense that you can't attack an enemy when you don't have a clear path to it, it makes far less sense when you can't attack one and you do have a path. In one battle I couldn't even move Kairu at all (I'm presuming because Aurora was blocking him), which was frustrating because there was nothing he could do in that battle at all, and I ended up dying there.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
Well, I've just about finished with this. First off, no, the flan ring doesn't appear to have any special properties (There are flans in the main game, only in the devil's road though. I haven't bothered testing the ring against them, but I guess I should.). I also noticed that flame/ice equipment no longer makes you weak against the opposite element (The same is probably true for holy/dark, but I didn't think to cast Libra on Cecil during that part of the game). I got the main party up to level 50; it took forever to get Cid and Rosa up. I've got a save in the devil's road now and I've been fighting gray coeurls hoping to get a tail from them, but no luck so far. I'm doing pretty much the same thing in Rydia's tale, but with green dragons in the Agart mine. I've got about two weeks to nab a couple tails before the next...tales come out.
Warriors of the Lost Empire (PSP)

Just beat the 4th of the 8 dungeons.  So far the game is pretty neat, but isn't too deep and is just a level/dungeon grind.  But at least it is a fairly enjoyable one.  I bought a ton of games today so I'm updating my game list.

My Legacy of Y's came in the mail today (took only 2 days!) and I started playing Y's I.

Legacy of Y's, Book of Y's I (DS)

1:13 I am on the mountain path about to enter the temple.  I've leveled grinded a bit, maybe too much.  I did choose Very Easy just to finish the game quicker.  I am level 9 and already bought a Long Sword.  And I have 1451 Gold already saved up.  I have 1130/1420 until I gain to level 10.

So far its pretty fun.  Its not really boring, and hopefully it won't be.   :cycle:

*edit*
And 1 game hour later I'm in some wierd forest area with paths in the trees killing monsters that are giving me tons of exp.  I'm level 23 almost at the Lv24 max.  Apparently Y's Book I & II are short.  But Dahm Tower (sp?).

*edit 2*
4:22 I'm in the tower and no way out.  Time to beat Y's I!  I'm thinking about getting Y's Book I & II for the TG16 CD just because.  I want to play the original after I play these remakes.

Y's I (DS)
5:27 I just found Reah in the Lado Spire.  The tower is longer than I thought.   :wtf:

Final Fantasy VII (PS)

 Yes, really. Recently I was determined to beat my best "beat the crap out of Ruby" time, and a proof of concept attempt was made. With some minor preparation, I figured I could beat Ruby in five minute (that's incredibly fast, considering the HP and defense it has). My current best posted time is about 20 minutes, which is highly beatable. So with my new team, I made an attempt at Emerald first to see if I would do any better. With an improperly equipped Yuffie (forgot to switch out the Mega All for Double Cut) Emerald started the death animation at the 5 minute mark (just 15 seconds slower than my all-time best).

And then came the litmus test, Ruby Weapon. My damage output was far greater with Cloud, Barret, and Yuffie than it ever was with Cloud, Cid, and Yuffie. And no, I cannot update my current time, because I have nothing to capture this with. I lack a DVD recorder, and no input on the onboard video. So yeah, no actual proof until I get a ton of money. :isuck:

119 bugs fixed and counting.
