Doesn't look any harder than the steps. Archive has been updated, by the way.

 :edit:

Yeah, that area's nothing, the steps are much harder. Uploading a strategy video now.

And now, the funzies begin. The first movie breaks it open. I believe a couple more rooms were added, including one more section of one of the originals. A bunch of lame deaths, though. You can tell when I panic cause I'll have seen a new room for the first time.

Then there's hard mode, and believe it or not I do fairly well. I even managed to get through the newer evil laser room.

I haven't seen any new areas outside of the laser area yet, in fact I thought that was a different area than the screenshot when I first encountered it. If there are any you think are worthy of the strategy page let me know.

This video is taking forever to upload...

It's always possible the rooms I saw were added in a previous update and I never ran into them.

Keep in mind I haven't watched your videos yet.

Laser video is up:

 :edit:

I updated the strategy page, it now has some general strategies. I made some minor tweaks to the layout and added more navigation links too.

Updated. Must be a big one, there were three screenshots on Rock5easily's page this time. :whoa:

 :edit:

One of the new areas is a Gyro Man stage based on the auto scrolling section of Cossack's fortress in MM4:

I have an excellent movie for the November 8th update (this was before I even knew the 10th was out), and the only thing that can describe it is this:

New ultimate personal best!

:edit:

And now a run for the November 10th update. And where do I die? Why, a new laser room, of course!

Holy crap, there sure have been a lot of updates to this hack while I was away. Is there any reason to keep any of the old versions - like does the new version remove any areas from older versions, or does the creator just keep adding new areas?

Omg...I hate the laser rooms so much :x

The only reason you might want to hold onto old versions is to watch the movies that were recorded with them. That's the only reason I'm bothering with the archive, that and so we don't lose the "history" of this hack (there is already at least one version gone, most likely two, and possibly more). Maybe I'm crazy but I actually find these laser areas pretty fun, I usually hate unfair things in hacks but these aren't unfair, you just need to know how to approach them.

 :edit:

Oh cool, Leno got that underwater area, I haven't run into it yet. Here's the movie, strategies page has been updated too:

Oh, and before anyone starts taking my new title seriously, the blooper reel:

And now, a run of hard mode for the November 10th update. It didn't start out so great, then I encounter the napalm man room and new lazer room (again). I didn't figure either out until after this movie, so expect much hilarity there.

Check the newest entry in the general strategies section of my site. I made a run though the Quick Man laser area with the Gravity Hold on one time, and half considered using it (if you don't get why, it uses the same purple and white color scheme MM2's Time Stopper did) but never did. Now I regret that, although my videos are better as a result, and I'll record any future laser areas without using it.

Update. It now has an area practice mode, but I haven't tried it yet.

 :edit:

I went through the strategies page and my videos, and changed all of the names to match the ones given in the area practice mode. Still haven't tried this version of the hack for real, but I don't think there are any new areas (unless they're not in the area practice menu, which would be strange).

How do you access the practice mode? I don't see any option in the game.

Hold left and press start on the title screen.

Thanks, this is precisely what I needed! I dunno if I should take advantage of this mode to practice though - it seems more fun and challenging when I don't know exactly what's coming up :P
