This does not bode well...
« on: December 29, 2009, 11:20:03 PM »
So I'm grocery shopping yesterday, getting the usual crap. Everything goes smoothly, no problems. It's not until last night that I go over the receipt to see if they ripped me off anywhere (it's not common, but it happens).

So I'm looking down this huge receipt, and two items caught my eye:

LOL MARG STICKS
KEMPS HOMO MILK

:wtf:

So internet lingo has invaded the dairy section now?

119 bugs fixed and counting.

"Sometimes ninjas do wrong to each other, and in dat way the force of tha earf' comes around da moon - and at that presence, da dirt, it overshadows the grass, so you're like, I can't cut dis grass, there's no sun comin' through. So in order to enable each other the two fruits have to look each other in da eye and understand we can only be right, as da ripe is wrong, you know what I mean?"

You suffer from name shortening and acronyms.

NOOB would be short for Nationally Organic Organized Bakery or something like that to have that happen.

haha, that is funny.

i've never seen anything that amusing, but my grocery receipts have their share of kryptic stuff.  it can be a challenge trying to figure out what means what item, especially if i look at the receipt awhile after the purchase.  like your store, mine has those shortened descriptions.  somewhat unnecessary when you consider the receipt paper is the same width as fast food receipts (3 1/8"), and those manage to be more comprehensible.  for whatever reason, my grocery store insists on having a 7/8-inch indent on the left of the lines with the item names.  after the name, there's a 2-character column that has something to do with discounts, the price, a letter (almost always "B"), then a 1/4-inch righthand margin.

which leaves precious little space for the actual name. :/

normally it's just annoying, but this thread made it more tolerable. :)

I remember when homogenized milk at the store had "homo" written on the cap; when I was young and immature, I got a kick out of that.
