Ummm, grabbing a pan without using an oven mitt/glove is a bad idea.  My fire alarm was going off while I'm cooking french toast (I'm in an apt) so I had to act fast by taking the pan off the burner to stop the french toast from smoking any more.  I had to unplug the firealarm and open the patio door.

Needless to say my hand is not peechy keen right now.  Granted the picture was taken a few minutes ago and this happend about 6 hours ago.  You should of seen my hand about 4 hours ago.  Good thing I have a high pain tolerance.

Eh, I touched the grill on multiple occasions while working at McDonald's. Also been attacked by popping meat and popping grease - so I've had my share of burns. I also have been told I have high pain tolerance, but I think it's BS :P

i remember one time  picking up a plate once at an old job after it sat on the line for awhile and it burned me badly enough that all the skin on the pad of my thumb down past my knuckle burned/blistered/peeled off.  i feel your pain, man.

ouch, that's no good.  did you run your hand under cold water right afterward?  i've heard that can help (and it's soothing).

Maybe 2 minutes afterwards.  Had to open the patio door and unplug the smoke detector.
