I have seen that happen. It may have been while using a summon spell in the steamship.

Oh, that is a good feature. There is more flexibility now.

One problem that remains is that you cannot change tiles on one layer at a time. If I want to change the leaves in bg01 without changing bg00 I have to manually change the tile IDs. I wish you could choose which layer to edit.

TMPR doesn't work in the NES version.
I've noticed this trend a lot in FF1 and FF2 (NES versions). Lots of spells don't seem to do anything. TMPR is awesome in the PS version of FF1, since it allows you to get by with weak weapons.

I was thinking maybe to do as you Jorgur with 'Common Lists' - to combine many different ones in one dedicated tab. What do you think?
Yes, I do mean the tables. I would put them under "Items" since they are all related to items.

I also feel the encounter viewer needs a bit of work
I volunteer to do the work, just tell me in details what you have in mind :D
Not much, really. The background is still white but I'm sure you are working on that. The monster graphics are not extracted from ROM which means if a ROM uses custom monsters they will display incorrectly in the encounter viewer.

So far what I see still missing is:
- Character data
- Equipment types/elemental properties/status properties
- SNES backgrounds (I hope you will do this at some point)
I also feel the encounter viewer needs a bit of work. I would like to see monster graphics (and if possible backgrounds) displayed as in the ROM.

Great work as usual, keep it up!

In the wiki you can create tags (categories) like I did for the Bugs section. In here you can create several tags, one for patches in general and another for whatever category it fits (like as mentioned graphical, bug fix, translation, etc.)
Hmm, that's a good idea. Should we do that instead then?

I didn't use Flail because Mages can equip those. That being said, there are technically no flails in the game. Using a new bit was just the simplest thing to do in terms of changes.

Quote from: the wiki
Equipment index 17 changed from 0x02000004 to 0x00800000
Thief and Ninja now able to use equipment type 0x00800000
Is this what you mean?

I personally believe alphabetical order would be messy. It would all be listed under a single category and it would make it hard to find what you are looking for. Ordering by date might be an option, but we don't really know the exact dates of all these patches. It would be easier to just categorize them.

I see nothing wrong in adding a patch to several categories. The links would take you to the same page anyway. Not sure what you mean by "many times" though. Usually the patch belongs in only one category.

The bits are explained in the wiki.

BTW your Equipment types names are not accurate. What you call 'Glove' & 'Ring' are 'Heavy Accessory' & 'Light Accessory'.
That's a matter of preference. All of the former items are gloves; all of the latter items are rings. It just makes more sense to me to use these short and simple names.

The terms I use now are a little different from before. When I say "Equipment type" I mean a new bit in the "Equipment types" list. I believe what you are referring to is what I now call "Equipment index", and yes, I changed the definition of the "Exotic weapon" index.

More details in the wiki.

What makes you say that? Some arguments would be more helpful.

With the increased number of patches, it seems that sorting them by category is becoming more neccessary. Ideas for categories? How about:
- Translation
- Bug fix
- Artistic
- Gameplay
- Mechanical

Well... actually this editor does the same, isn't it?
Oh, wow, you're right. It does. I guess I didn't try it out properly. Can it be done on Bg01?

Anyways it would be nice if you could select a tile by clicking on it in the tileset menu.
