General Discussion / Snow...in...Texas?!
« on: March 06, 2008, 05:28:58 PM »
No I'm serious, snow...in...Texas.  My poor Camaro.  :(  I hope he doesn't rust.  Thanks mother nature--you bitch.

And I mean bigass snow flakes too.  But, as a bonus I freaked a few people out by my "sideways antics".  :D

I have Metal Gear Solid 1, but right now I'm too busy going through Xenogears.
Oh, that'll only take you 90 game hours to do. Yes, the game is that long. Still a good game though.

90 hours?  I knew it was a lomg game but 90 is a really long game.  XT said he's on the first disc @ 60 hours or so and stuck on this one boss  I just can't believe I never played this game, its absolutely fantastic.

*edit*
I also wanted to check in and tell you that Final Fantasy VIII ran PERFECTLY.  It was quite awsome to see it on a handheld console.

Considering that sony themselves made the emulator that runs psx games, I'm not all that suprised. Download the metal gear games for it and lemme know when you do, I'll shoot you a few times :D

Any progress on the editor?

I just played a bit of Final Fantasy Tactics (PSX) on my PSP and my god does it look stellar.  The audio is perfect as well.  I'm actually surprised the PSP behaves itself this well on PSX emulation.  Now I can finally go through FF9--and as a bonus with less load times.

General Discussion / Suggestions.
« on: February 24, 2008, 07:49:59 PM »
1. Option in Config menu to use the ability to playback either NSF's (FF1), PSF's (FF1 Origins), or OGG's (FF1 Aniversary[PSP]/Origins) style music.
2. Option in either the new game config screen or config menu screen to alow the player to switch between NES or PSX/GBA graphics.  And possibly even FF1 Aniversary [PSP] graphics if someone can dump them.
3. A new game opening dialogue.
4. Allow the game designer to design a small tutorial event for the player to partisipate in...or watch.

I can come up with more that won't harm the integrity of FF1's gameplay or storyline.  I'm trying to just suggest things for the gaming enviorment that lets the user change his or her tastes.

General Discussion / Re: Original Fantasy Script Commands
« on: February 24, 2008, 07:42:04 PM »
Explination following.  Don't know if these are or aren't on the list

1. Flash screen xx times using yy palette for zz length per flash
2. Fade in-out at xx speed type yy
3. Mosiac in/out at xx speed
4. Show desert wind when char hits xx coordinates (for use in the mirage desert)
5. Play music xx
6. Fade in/out music xx at yy speed
7. Play sound effect xx for yy number of times
8. Show dialogue entry xx at yy position on screen
9. "ungroup" party on the overworld by type xx

==================================

Explination:

1. Should be self explainatory.  Flash the screen a certain number of times [xx] using palette [yy] at speed [zz] per flash.
2. By "type" I'm referring to the actual fade out animation, circle, square, triangle, random, rotating, you know those sorts of things.
3. When you run into a battle in FF4-6, that effect.
4. Self explanatory.
5. Duh.
6. Duh.
7. Err?
8. Self explainatory.
9. Simply show the party members walk out and form a certain type of formation, 1x3, 2x2, 3x1, 4x0, etc.  Think later FF's when the walking sprite hits an event and everyone comes out of the single sprite to face the event in question.  A picture can be arranged if needed.

How's that?

Yea but the PSP can be so much better in so many ways if the codes advance the code quickly enough.  Plus, the widescreen LCD is quite good on the PSP and is definately sharper than the DS screen.

Seems as though I'm in for a bumpy ride.  I was injured at work last week--and I knew exactly what it was.  I have been going to a local "doc in a box" Prima Care and he finally diagnosed my problem as a rotator cuff injury which is what I said from day one.  He doesn't know if it is a sprain or tear, so today after me calling and calling the people who're handing my worker's comp case I finally got them to OK an MRI.

I'll know in the next few days if it is indeed a tear or just a sprain.  If it is a tear that means surgery and half of my year in phyiscal theropy.

=============================

Now I have the flu or an upper resperatory infection.  I can't wait for this month to end.
