I just found out a cousin of mine overdosed on Heroin.

He was 18 yearsold.  What the fuck is wrong with people?  Its 2008, everyone KNOWS narcotics and perscription medication can KILL YOU.  I don't get it.  Thankfully I think they are going to charge the two teenagers who sold it to him with involuntary manslaughter.  Maybe that will teach them a hard life lesson.  And, my cousin's girlfriend (16) also took the heroin, maybe she will now learn the hard lesson as well. 

Hey young people (and adults too), take narcotics and abuse perscription medication and you WILL die.  Get it?  Got it?  Good.

It has a lot to do with people wanting to be "high".. and they truly need to fed a lot of fear in the reality of drugs. I mean it sounds so cliche, but it's true that some people will disagree and not realize it until it is too late.

Sorry to hear about that.

Its just so infuriating.  If this has ever happend to you, losing a friend of family member this way it just seems so pointless.  I mean he was 18...that's really young.

I had a childhood friend die at the the age of 16 a fews years back in a car he was driving. Like you say, to lose a person so early into their life is such a tragedy. And to something as stupid as a drug high.
This reaffirms my belief that we MUST reform how we treat drug use in this country, and how we must do a better job of education.

Education is indeed key. I don't know about the US, but over here the teachers are all about scare tactics, which we all know don't work on foolish teenagers. (didn't work on me either, had to find out the hard way.. thankfully not by using, but by seeing others get ill side effects)
