The descriptions of the Ice+Fire Shields are the longest AFAIK and are affected most by this patch.

I plead ignorance since I got the patch from RHDN.

Ummm, what? I've read this 6 times, and I can't make out the intent of what you were trying to say.

119 bugs fixed and counting.

Fixed. Everyone has their moments. What was most disappointing was a lack of a link...

Heh, sorry. I was listening to music and singing along with it while posting. Guess that doesn't work

Anyhow, DKK emailed it to me--I forget what he said exactly. I only remember him saying that he had yet to fix the "Brena/Brina" inconsistancy with the Brina enemies (Normal enemy = Brina; fused enemy = Calcobrena) and shove the entire font up a pixel (So that the capital "A" and the lowercase "y" would have shadows at the very bottom of them). But, IIRC, that was late '06/early '07. PB probably enveloped most of his time, so I totally understand.

If you've still got the update send it back to me, it was lost to the ether when I accidentally deleted my GBA working folder thinking I had the updated one in my main directory. If I realized I had actually sent that out I would've asked about it sooner.

That said since I've been playing GBA games exclusively on my DS Lite now instead of my GB Player I haven't needed the font patch, everything is easily readable without it, so I haven't even been using it myself.

I do, but it's merged with the stripper restoration patch.
That okay?

Yeah, that's fine, it's not hard at all to ununcensor those sprites.

I got it and that font was pretty awful. I copied the fixed up text into another patch I was working on a few months back:

http://dragonsbrethren.slickproductions.org/files/ff4/updatedff4afontpatch.zip

Don't submit this to RHDN or anything, it's a WIP, I don't think I ever fixed the music player font. Didn't plan on releasing this until I figured out a decent way to redo text pointers, I wanted to do a few fixes that required expanded strings. Still, it's fully playable and much better than the old versions.

It's fine--The only thing wrong with it is the dialouge font's lowercase "g", which has a pixel of white font and black shadow too much.

EDIT: Speaking of the music player's font, here's something really strange:

It appears that certain capital letters are affected by this hack, while others aren't, and none of the lowercase letters are affected by it. Weird...

The capital letters in that font are used by the status text (HP, MP, LV) in the main menu for whatever reason. They had to be changed, otherwise I would've just left the original font intact.

Really I could just copy the entire menu font over the music player font and it would work, FF6 Advance did that, the only thing is the thin font really looks better there, it usually fits in the title box without the need for scrolling.

Here's a mockup of how it'd look fixed with the thin font:

You did a pretty thorough job DKK. The capital "M" and the lowercase "g" are the only ones left to be fixed.
For quick reference, here's how they look now (top) and how they're supposed to look (bottom):
