Sword of Mana - Video Playthough!

I'm doing a youtube/VBA movie run of this game.. two infact, the boy run, and girl run.. but first the boy run.

Both video formats are being recorded at the same time. So, I'm having to do extra encoding to make the size of the videos for youtube at most 10:59 I encode them at 16:9 so they won't look funny in 4:3 in windows movie maker. There will be no direct downloads of the videos, if you want, you can get the videos off youtube, by Greasemonkey and the youtube plugin for it.

Note: Even though the video is linked here, doesn't mean it's processed yet. so if you get an error try again in a few minutes.

Video 0 - introduction Youtube only.
Video 1 - Boy run
Video 2 - Boy run
Video 3 - Boy run
Video 4 - Boy run
Video 5 - Boy run

For the VBA videos.

Note: Due to the lack of the job, and power going up, I have to turn off my computer at night. So if you experience any down time between 1 AM and 9 AM in most cases. The only exception is mostly Saturday which the server will be on at 12:00 pm or later.

You will need the emulator I used for the FF1 run. I think the link is there.

Recorded some demos in Chocolate Doom earlier to test my new mouse settings:

my computer is down from 1 AM CST to 9 AM CST. that's why you couldn't get the movies. The down time is to save money on power.  The server is up now. Also, i do have FF1 videos on youtube as well, though it's missing one video and that it's diffrent than the VBA movies.

I tried watching the youtube ones, but the frame rate is all fucked up and it looks so off.

I thought you said something about your server being down at night, but I couldn't find it when I did a search of your posts. Must have missed it.

Here's the movie I said I'd make a few days ago. Recorded with Nestopia 1.40.

Nothing special, my timing was off a bit in the beginning.

Shadow Man
I considered dying against him purposely the first time because my energy was so low, but decided to give him a shot and (barely) pulled it off.

Spark Man
First death is here, jumped a bit too high. Otherwise nothing special.

Magnet Man
Yeah, that spot with the blocks was painful, it was like the first day I got the game all over again...

Hard Man
Nothing special.

Snake Man
I really didn't want to use an energy tank here but I had him pretty low and didn't feel like doing the whole thing over just because I was having a hard time evading him.

Gemini Man
Laugh as I slide off a block backwards to my death. I haven't had this much trouble with the water area in a long time, I usually bounce right over with little effort like the last attempt.

Needle Man
Purposely died the first time fighting him, but really didn't need to since I didn't take a single hit on the second attempt.

Spark Man Mk.II
Nothing special.

Gemini Man Mk.II
I could've sworn Flash Man took more damage from Shadow Blades than the Needle Cannon. Oh well.

Shadow Man Mk.II
This is the first time I've tried the Top Spin against Heat Man, it doesn't seem all that useful, but its damage is kind of random...

Needle Man Mk.II
Nothing special.

Break Man
You know, I think "Break Man" is less intended to be his name here and more a lame joke. Intermission Man would have made more sense if that's the case, but there's no way that would fit on the stage select screen.

Wily 1
Nothing special.

Wily 2
Did pretty good against the Yellow Devil. I have trouble with it sometimes.

Wily 3
Died against the clones the first time. It's funny how it stayed in the middle slot the entire time on my second attempt.

Wily 4
Damn Top Spin ran out against Shadow Man and I died trying to finish him off with the buster. Other than that nothing special.

Wily 5
My strategy against Wily kind of feels like cheating...

Wily 6
Nothing special, except for the Rush Jet hijinx towards the end...[/spoiler]

Mega Man II reminded me that I've been meaning to play through one of my favorite hacks again:

The Adventures of Bass II - Part 1

It's been a long time since I played this last and I forgot a lot of the level layouts, I was actually more surprised by how much I remembered though. I'll finish up the rest of the stages tomorrow.

Got another attempt at MM3, and I am getting better at it. Now I can make it as far as redux stage 4 before getting a game over. :blush: Don't read too much into that, though, since I died all over the place, and the game kept pumping out extra lives at me. Eventually I'm going to own this like I own MMX1 (Zsnes v1.36!) which naturally comes with a lot of practice and elbow grease. :laugh:

Mega Man VI Reverse

As the name suggests I do the stages in the opposite order I usually do...and it's disturbingly easy. Just ignore the first stage of Mr. X's fortress, I was...broken or something. I'll finish the Bass II run later.

Mega Man IV (NES)

Overall a pretty good run, there's an embarrassing death right at the beginning and the Wily 2 fight is horrible. I could've sworn he was weak against one of the weapons I was trying on him, so I checked a damage chart after finishing the movie and he's supposed to be taking 4 damage from the drill bomb, I don't know why I couldn't hit him with it. The Wily 3 fight (the one that's usually a huge pain in the ass), on the other hand, was unbelievably easy this time.
