Hmm....DB, would this method work with FF6a if you had the proper table files? I want to do a script comparison and see how different they are from FF3us to FF6a, since I can't bring myself to play that mangled GBA version.

VIVE LA SNES!
No, you'd also need to get the correct offsets for each block of text and update the commands file.

My impression of it is being run off of an emulator. And though the script seems a bit better from the little I've played of it, the game itself doesn't run nearly as smoothly as the SNES version, and the sound is just bad. This is in comparison to FFVa, which has impressed me overall compared to the SNES version. Just sayin.

The GBA games do not run on emulators, the performance would be much worse if they were being emulated. While similar, the SNES and GBA graphical hardware does not sync up well enough draw the SNES layers directly to the GBA layers (this is why the GBA/DS SNES emulators require you to switch layer priority in several games, often multiple times in the same game), and a framebuffer renderer like PC emulators use is completely out of the question due to how slow it would be.

ok wow

so this post is being resurrected by its creator for a pretty important announcement

I heard from Lord J himself, he is currently working on a dialog editor and a music/spell animation editor in FF3USME and its going to be finished hopefully by the middle to end of December, or early January the latest

good shit eh ;)

Is Lord J some kind of genius?
I wonder what the spell editor would be like?
I wonder about the music too. Personally, I'm not sure I'd even use that.

I figure my total text editing would take me many months to write, edit and test. I might just hold off on that part...

That's fantastic! ^_^
We don't hear from Lord J often, but when we do it's always some cool shit indeed!
