The search for Disch
« on: September 08, 2014, 01:30:27 PM »
Hi.

First off, sorry for posting this in an unrelated forum, but I didn't/couldn't find an appropriate off-topic/GD subforum where this would fit, and I guess my PM to Lenophis was ignored/buried by 1000 others. Please feel free to move or delete this shit thread, mods.

I am looking for the author of notsofatso, _Disch, but the contact information on this site is out of date, and I can't find him elsewhere online. I see that Lenophis, is still somewhat active on these forums, and he was listed as a contact on the notsofatso site, so maybe someone in this community can give me a clue.

My ultimate goal here is to make a rudimentary NSF -> MIDI javascript module which will plug into my MIDI SMF (meta*)editor.  I have a significant amount of experience with MIDI, and am not entirely naive about NSF(e), so from my eyes, this seems possible. Hell, there are NSF -> MIDI applications for windows out already! I want to adjust Disch's code to suit my purposes (this is the ??? step of my plan), cross-compile to javascript and use as a dependency/extension-by-plugin for my editor.

tl;dr: Anyone know what happened to Disch?

PS: I love the FF6 emoticons :cycle:

It wasn't ignored, just couldn't answer it over the weekend. My bad. To answer your question, Disch is largely MIA. I don't know if he still checks that yahoo account, but I would imagine he doesn't. He was in an IRC channel I frequent about 2 months ago, but that's about it as far as activity goes. He's like a unicorn now. :bah:

Yeah, that yahoo account has been deleted.  Can you let me know which IRC channel I should ghost on if I want to catch a glimpse of the elusive Disch? Fortunately for me, one thing I have a lot of is time and patience  (or PM me the details if it isn't something you'd like on the internet)

Thanks for getting back to me, Lenophis :childish:
