Do you remember if being able to take Biggs, Wedge, and Leo's equipment off in battle was intentional?

As far as I know there are no backups of JCE's forum, Archive.org has the index but none of the posts. :bah:

I already fixed that issue with the garbage text in battle, thanks to Leno having the offset handy. There's another small issue, you can steal Biggs, Wedge, and Leo's equipment in battle. I know old versions of FF3usME used to have problems with the bit that stops that from being possible but this almost seems intentional since the moogles and Banon are fine. What do you think should be done here, leave it as-is?

Claws have all been given the equip two weapons property, I'll probably make another patch once I get your response to that question. Watched your Whelk movie, by the way, Wedge having Mimic would make that battle too easy if it wasn't already too easy.

:edit:

Ack, too many typos! :whoa:

Okay, do you think that should be fixed by making all claws allow two weapons or by changing his starting equipment to make it consistent with the actual weapon properties?

There are a few Lord Bane formations I'm still concerned with, no easy way to fix these so I guess we'll have to wait and see what they look like.

:edit:

Found one myself, some of the weapon types display garbage after their quantity in battle because of the icon they use. A minor problem with assassin's icon expansion patch, we had to fix this for Pandora's Box too.

There's a quad Machine (Guardian) formation, is that actually used in the game? None of the moulds would actually fit these, I'd have to cut it down to two.

Do you remember if Dirt Drgn had any display issues? Based on its mould I'd say it would.

:edit:

Switched to mould 0 just incase.

The dual Plague formation looks bad too, switched that to mould 2.

Leo has his normal Shock in addition to SwdTech.

Okay, the Dragoon sword can be used with SwdTech now. I don't think that really warrants a new patch but if you want one for your playthrough let me know.

 :edit:

The KDogg formation is probably still broken in the patch I posted, I forgot to check that one, it was using mould 0 instead of 1. Same with Xlom3000 and ?????, that formation required changing the slots the monsters were using in addition to the mould.

Both should be fixed now, Xlom3000 is still using a mould much bigger than it needs but I doubt that'll cause any problems.

Ah, I just meant an emulator movie.

You might want to look into FF3 too, I don't know if you played that yet but there is a ton of unused, untranslated dialogue still in the game. Practically every map had dialogue at some point, never tried running them through a translator to see what they actually say though.

No, you have to play at the original framerate. I can't recall if any of the emulators for the DS let you increase the framerate or not, I know nesDS does but I'd recommend using PocketNES on the 3-in-1 cart over that, it has a lot of improvements over the version of PocketNES nesDS was based on.

Dunno who approved that, wasn't me obviously, I don't mind people criticizing my work but that guy doesn't even know what the patch does based on that review.

The "babil" files contain most of the game's data, most dialogue text is stored in a separate file for each map, I forget the extension. There are two FF3 utilities on RHDN that also work (Somewhat incorrectly) with FF4, I haven't tried them with the US version yet but it's worth a shot. One's a font editor, one's a text editor.

6) A number of equipment (relics and armor) have the Imp property where it shouldn't. It hurts a number of armor (though helps those 0 defense relics).
You sound pretty sure that it's not something he intended... Can you say it absolute certainty?

Hell, I don't know what JCE plans, since he is 120% unpredictable.

99.9%, since the initial equipment Terra gets is an "Imp crippled" hat.

Yeah, someone seems to have gotten a little over zealous with the "All" button in FF3usME.

This ROM seems to have all of that fixed, I can't remember what actual bugfix patches I applied to it, if any, though. Want the patch?

I might as well, I'll have to play that and the new hack so I actually have a cool review (or whatever).

http://dragonsbrethren.slickproductions.org/files/misc/ff3usht13.zip

Patch it to a clean, headered copy of FF3us 1.0.

Let me know if you run into any other problems. Since you'll be playing through it again, maybe you should record a movie? That thread's been getting neglected lately, I'm sure lots of people would be interested in watching one.

Okay, thanks, I'm not sure if this is the newest version or not, posting the bugs again will be helpful. My changelog file here only mentions adding icons to the item names and fixing a few formations but I may have just forgotten to update that, I remember doing more than that.

Do you have version 1.3? I don't know if JCE and I ever released that, I remember fixing up a bunch of things you posted on the old board, although I know there was a lot I missed because the board went down in the middle of fixing the hack.
