Snow...in...Texas?!
« on: March 06, 2008, 05:28:58 PM »
No I'm serious, snow...in...Texas.  My poor Camaro.  :(  I hope he doesn't rust.  Thanks mother nature--you bitch.

And I mean bigass snow flakes too.  But, as a bonus I freaked a few people out by my "sideways antics".  :D

Wow... I gotta show this to my British friend. She's gonna be so pissed.  They still haven't had any snow, and she wants it so bad.

Tell her she can take some of ours.  A round-trip flight and a few portable coolers oughta do the trick.

Import it from New England. In fact, tell her to live here. She won't miss it then.

Officially we had 7-10" of snow here.  That's a huge amount for the Dallas area.   :omg:

That's a huge amount for any area, especially if it falls within a few hours. Then it's crippling. :whoa:

Seriously.  It all fell within about 2 hours.  It took me 45mins or so to drive 6 miles.  Mostly because these idiots here can't drive in the dry much less in the rain or snow/ice.

do you know if you were hit by the same system that got the St. Louis area?  i know my sister was commenting how it was in the 70s there, then bam!  a couple days later, they get an insane amount of snow.  (10" total, 5" in one hour's span.)  it sounds very similar to what you experienced, though it may just be coincidence.

Damn you, give us our snow back!

Seriously, we've had two storms this year, one that left about an inch and one that left a little more than two inches. We usually have a storm like those at least once a month here, with at least one like you got. It's felt like spring almost all winter, the weather patterns for this whole region are screwed up this year.

We just got a huge amount of rain here over the past two days.  I don't know the official total but it was enough to make the ceiling in my kitchen leak and a tiny bit of flooding in the basement, the landlord will be getting a call about that later, and he probably won't do anything again.

 That's not right. The ceiling leaking is bad enough, when was the last time the roof had work done?

About a year ago, and the year before that. Obviously the problem isn't actually getting fixed, but that's how this guy does things. The basement flooding is understandable, it's an unfinished basement and the ground outside was already soaked from the storm we had a few days ago, the rain came down hard and there was just no where else for the water to go.

Wow...normally we get at least a few snows like that here in Indiana. This year all we keep getting is like an inch or so that just causes idiots to drive badly.

I can work from home if it snows mounds, but not this year... No only enough snow to make my half hour drive an hour. :bah:

to answer my own question: i saw on the news a few days ago that the storm started in Texas, went through the Ohio Valley, and reached New England (where it was rain rather than snow).  so i guess it was unrelated to St. Louis.
