That response was almost in English.

And be able to spam using those items in battle without worrying about depleting them.
If you have 99, isn't that true anyway? You'll always keep your eye on the quantity you have, so I'm not real sure on this point.

I'd much rather be limited to only carrying 99 of a specific item if I have room for every item in the game. That was a change I was really hoping for in the GBA version, since it made it into FF2, only to be disappointed. I'm glad they decided to finally see the light in the DS version, I never felt the need to carry more than 99 of any item before; I heal using magic, which is much more cost effective in the DS version. There was nothing more irritating than having to toss items only because I was carrying half a dozen different arrows, multiple elemental weapons and armor, plus a whole stash of items.

In FF7 it's the worst, because gil is so abundant. You master about 30 All materias and sell them, you'll have the gil to buy 99 of every item in the game, including weapons/armor/accessories

well, watching part of the loz:oot let's play by khad and slybo(http://lparchive.org/LetsPlay/OoT/) got me in the mood to play through again.  so, i grabbed the latest version of project64(when is 1.7 supposed to come out, btw?  supposedly, you could get a beta copy by donating, but there's no way that's happening.) and i'm halfway through the deku tree.  i was surprised at how good the game looks at 1920x1200 with all the settings enabled(2x sai, etc) in p64.

btw, if anyone hasn't played through zelda's birthday yet(oot hack), give it a shot. it's quite fun

:edit:
also, btw, if anyone wants them, i have the ura zelda patches made by xu yuan a while back.  he made 3 "chapters" of a z64 debug rom hack.(zelda's bday is also for the debug rom)

I can't imagine 2xSai looking good on an N64 game. Care to post any screenshots?

i wish i could capture the screen with a lossless format, because these don't look as good as they do on my monitor.  i'll take some actual screenshots and add more.  i also just noticed the aa and as filtering, so i'm  gonna give those a try.

:edit:

apparently, you can't take in-game pics with the aa and as filters on. i'll have to grab some full-screen shots.

What graphics plugin are you using? Glide64 Napalm should give you the best results graphically, and saves its screenshots as bitmap.

the default plugin.  i'll look around for that glide napalm.

this thing only saves as jpgs, which sucks.

:edit:

hmmm... this glide64 plugin only goes up to 1600x1200 fullscreen...

http://glide64.emuxhaven.net/

To save you some time, you need to put the wrapper in the same directory as the emulator, and the actual plugin in the emulator's plugin directory. Unless you happen to have a Glide card, in which case you don't need the wrapper.

yeah, i did it.  we posted at almost exaftly the same time.  the plugin only goes up to 1600x1200, which doesn;t help, since the monitor i'm playing on is 24"wide and is set to 1920x1200. i'd use my second monitor, but it's a 19" full screen monitor.

any other good plugins out there?  i'm looking around, but all i see is old shit and i'm not sure what's new/old.

btw, got myself a new desktop just now:  http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/5862/desktopumt.png

you can click on the coins, coin blocks, and enemies to interact with them.

Glide64 is the best N64 plugin out there right now, it's the only one that does a large number of "special effects" in games (one I can think of right off the bat are the scrolling skies in GoldenEye, which are entirely black in Jabo's plugin, and static in others). You might want to take a look on their forums and see if there's any specific reason it can't do higher resolutions; most of these just use whatever your video cards tells them it can do.

after playing with it some more, i think i can add resolutions by editing the ini file.  it looks like i can handle most of my gripes in there...

:edit:
also, i was using the old version. in the downloads section, the most recent release is listed as pr1, while on the main page is pr 1.22.  got the new one now.

:edit: 2

now that it's up and running(and set up properly!), it looks pretty damned good! thanks! i'll post a few pics in a little while.  none of the 2xsai, etc effects work, they just screw with the graphics.  i can make the full screen setting 1920x1200, though, so that's good.

:edit: 3

also, if anyone wants it, the hi-res texture pack for zelda64:

http://www.lanpartyguide.com/zelda/

muuuch better!

http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2971/zeldakeep00.png

:edit: 4

now with widescreen hi-res textures!  (the plugin that's used for the hi-res textures automatically outputs pngs. pretty nice!)

Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES)

First time playing this game (yeah, really). It came recommended by a friend, so I gave it a shot (considering how much I like Legend and Secret, I don't know why I never gave this a chance until now). My team is Lise, Duran, and Kevin, which I'm told is one of the easiest setups the game has.

I'm progressing through quite nicely. I got as far as the volcano island, but died on it (actually Kevin and Lise died, Duran was still alive but it was a game over anyway) and hadn't saved since I arrived so I'm not sure how much I lost (I think my last save was at Rolante castle, as I was retaking it). :isuck:

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (Wii)
Wow, Yang's tale was certainly not worth the $3. It seemed like it was just beginning, and then it was over. I suppose Rydia's would've been just as bad if you rushed it, but that's the thing, there was actually optional stuff to do in hers that stretched it out a bit. I hope the others aren't this short.

On the plus side, Yang's challenge dungeon seems like a pretty big departure from the ones in the main game and Rydia's tale, so that'll be a fun way to kill some time, I guess.
