Yes, but I'm already disappointed in it at the moment. A quick look at what was done is not entirely impressive.

IIRC, the Lucky Ring is supposed to make the Lucky Knife useful.

Done, but with JCE's suggested 84 additional attack power (Bringing it to 193) it might just be too good now.
When you consider that the Ninja's Suit has an innate Offering, the Lucky Ring is of little consequence. Plus, I need a good reason to justify at 10000+GP purchase of the damned thing (please release this patch to test, since I just bought a set of 4).
there's definitely nothing wrong with the way it's originally written.  people speak both ways, with or without the "there".

Agreed, there's no reason for his line to be "perfect," it sounds much more natural the way it's currently written.

I understand it sounds ok "naturally" in a movie or tv, it's harder to accept when written on a screen (we can agree to disagree, but it doesn't look right on screen, compared to all the other stuff that's in the script).

 :edit:
The patch does need the Genji Glove fix (especially when Gau now has a Claw+Shield combo available.
I do recall abusing Vanish+Doom in this hack... though it was limited.

IIRC, the Lucky Ring is supposed to make the Lucky Knife useful.

However, that is seemingly not the case (there's no property set that makes this happen).

Caps would be nice...

Eh?

The sentence is this..

"May be survivors inside."

The sentence doesn't make sense, regardless of how "may be" is combined or not.

The setence should read more like this...

"There may be survivors inside."
or
"Maybe there are survivors inside."

(Heck, I should've spelled it out for reference to remove all confusion.)

Anyways... some more pics..

I'm partial to merging "under" and "water" together:

That's not the name of the item you receive....

Rehash of spell check failure:

Man, these sentences are getting worse...

On a related thought, it would probably be a good idea (tm) to change the website addy displayed in this hack, unless there are referred to the current website...

 :edit:

I did recall one other thing... after the Ultros battle (see my movie).. there seems to be a strange "hang" that occurs.. but it's actually the game trying to give you the message that you got items from Ultros and his companion, but that fails for obvious visible reasons. You need to hit 'A' a few times to fix that. I'm not sure if that should be documented in the readme or if that tandem shouldn't drop anything...

Well, it is missing a leadoff "There" or a "they're" after "Maybe"...

Your link actually proves my point, not refute it. (Or maybe, I'm not reading what you said correctly...  :blits:)

Maybe the order matters here...

Using FF3US 1.0, JCE's hack first, then evasion patch.. (although I wonder I should be doing the reverse...  :wtf:)

Since Terra's route is sucky, here's the mini-fuss method for that lame "checkpoint" puzzle:

 :blits: - The Movie

http://rapidshare.com/files/136170793/ff3hack3.7z.html

Included is the evasion patch which seems to work. I tried to be lazy and use the one that came with RPGOne's translation, but shit happened. The one from Terii Senshi's site seems to work fine:  http://www.rpglegion.com/ff6/hack/evade.htm

So should I obtain the evade patch or should I wait for an updated hack with it built in?

When you start a game of FF3/6 fresh w/o saves and you run through the intro.. interacting with any part of the intro will allow you to start the game with a time of 0:00 (some hacks seem to force this by requiring you to enter input)... within that short span, perhaps you get a special item or something for doing this (not sure how that could be accomplished).
So lemme see if I got this right. You want an item just for starting the game? Is Terra's pendant not enough?

No.. it's taking advantage of this behavior. Terra's pendant is symbolic, but has no actual impact. I'm talking about giving an item that is nifty/cool/fun/maybe useful, but not gamebreaking or impactful.

Quote
The time already starts ticking from 0:00 the instant you hit "new game," so saying the intro shouldn't count is rather pointless. It's 1, maybe 2 minutes.

Let me rephrase this better.

Instead of hitting the A button when the music starts, you hit the A button when the "intro" is playing (since nothing is happening). Once you hit the A button at this point forward (until the game restarts after the walk), you start the game a tad differently, where it will jump to Narshe instead of the opening after the walk. This only occurs when you have no saves. The time then starts at 0:00 this way.

I'll create a movie to demonstrate this if necessary.

 :edit:
http://rapidshare.com/files/136140460/FF3Test.7z.html

I hit the A button during the walk, which produces what you see. There are no hacks involved and works with any version of the game (well, not including the GBA version, in fact, I suspect the GBA's US Version's "initial game bug" is caused by this old unfixed behavior.. this is fixed in the Euro version). This was created with FF3US v1.0.

Here's a novel idea...

This is a lesser known behavior, and I'm not sure if it has been documented yet (then again...  :bah:)

When you start a game of FF3/6 fresh w/o saves and you run through the intro.. interacting with any part of the intro will allow you to start the game with a time of 0:00 (some hacks seem to force this by requiring you to enter input, others can prevent this it seems...)... within that short span, perhaps you get a special item or something for doing this (not sure how that could be accomplished).
