I've played through the whole game on a tablet.  I'll stick with the PSP version for future playthroughs though.  The only thing I felt improved in this version was learning and leveling up bands by participating in a certain number of fights together.  I dislike the content removal and I prefer a regular control pad and buttons.  I'm glad they didn't add augments as that was something I hated about FFIV DS.

I made it up to the save point in the waterway and here's what I've noticed.

-Baron magic is still called Ninja in battle and it said Black for Cecil in the menu.  I forgot to check if it did for Kain as well.
-There's some mountain sprites northeast of Baron that seem a bit out of place.
-A Cecil clone is standing on the well in Agart.
-Is the Officer that attacks in Kaipo supposed to have a boy's sprite?
-Tellah joined me even though I hadn't seen Rosa.
-Level 7 seems a bit early for Rydia to have Cure2.  If I recall, she would normally have it added to her list when she rejoins later, so  remember to address that if you haven't already.
-With all the extra healing power from Pill and the Falchion and also having shields on mages, you'll probably need to ramp up the difficulty.
Cecil has two Pill spells.  I'm guessing Kain learned it in the shadow party and you're using the same magic set.
-When I reached the save point in the waterway, a Tellah clone was blocking the entrance.  If I spoke to him he said his Let's rest here line, but nothing happened.  I returned to Kaipo and saw Rosa.  When I returned to the save room, Tellah was still there.  Speaking to him then made him go through his speech when he joins you, and then I had another Tellah, but he is still blocking the way.  A Rydia clone formed over Cecil that can't be interacted with .  I now have a team of Tellahs to go after that Spoony Bard.
-I could've sworn Rydia learned Lit1, but it isn't in my spell list.  Did she learn it on the same level as a White spell?  Maybe you'll need to separate those out.
-In keeping with tradition, maybe DK Cecil shouldn't be able to use the Buckler.

I don't think you can damage Valvalis with magic.  It has been a long time since I tried this, so perhaps I'm misremembering.

I'm sure I've beaten Asura without reflect with solo characters before, but I can't remember if that was in this version of the game.  You can probably do it with Nuke.

Cecil was not a big problem due to the Gaia gear as mentioned...but there is also the problem of Tornado followed by a physical hit.  You'll probably need to use an evade set-up.  Attack spells won't be of much use, so you'll be relying on some poor attack power from a lot of characters.

I tried these challenges years ago using savestate hacking.  Valvalis is a bottleneck for most characters.  Having the dummied battle items would be a big help.

Was he not in your shadow party?  I believe whichever character is in the proper shadow slot should be loaded.

I appealed one and the mod called me a name in the response.

there's a time where that probably would've gotten a mod dis-barred.  did you point out this behavior to the Admin?

I only mentioned it in my further appeal, which was denied again.  I then decided to just leave that site.  I have posted there a few times in the years since, but I used to be really active on the FF boards.

I've twice been moderated for something that was not against the rules until after I was moderated.  The NFL has the Rooney rule, Gamefaqs has the Matequillo rules.

I appealed one and the mod called me a name in the response.  I think the mods just back each other over there.

I only ran into problems with inventory space when I got to the Lunar Ruins.  I ran out of room in the Interlude because I was holding on to almost everything since I didn't know what to expect.

Yeah I play at max sped.  I guess maybe my judgment was influenced by the game prior to the shipwreck.  I hadn't heard that segment was supposed to be easier.  I noticed a change right from the start.  I had decided to try for some summon drops before heading to Mist and found that none of the enemies never even attempted an attack before the battle was over.  This was normal in the SNES FFII release, but not in any other FFIV release I've played.

On a side note, I find it annoying that when you go to save it is automatically on the last file you had saved on.  I had finished the crystals and decided to finish Rydia's Tale, since that was the only tale I hadn't finished on my first run.  I wasn't thinking at just hit the accept button when saving and save over my only Crystals file, and I had yet to check out the extra boss fight.  I'd prefer if the game defaulted to the last file you loaded up until you have saved again.

The extra boss was kind of lame.  I did lose my first attempt because I hadn't leveled most of my characters.  After a small amount of levelling, I easily won.  The thing hardly does any moves before I kill it.  I had to fight it a second time and sit and wait on the second portion to do all its summons so I could fill out my bestiary.

I've played through the whole thing and it does seem a bit easier.  Even TAY seemed easier.  It doesn't seem like a lot of enemies get their attacks in as quickly as they used to.

Does learning through the items count as an event?
