I haven't been able to increase the number of spell menu IDs.  But nothing ASM won't cure.

Funny thing is if you equip a normal weapon on Yang it acts normal.

I actually believe it's either hard coded or there's a separate table that determines what items are a part of what type.  Someone refresh my memory here?

I can actually help explain this duplicating spells in more detail.  Anytime you have someone sharing the same spell menu ID--which is the Adult Caller sharing the Child Caller's spell menu ID for example--and when one learns a spell the other learns it thus duplicating it since it shares the same menu ID.  Try this, replace Cecils's White magic menu with Young Rydia's White magic menu and have Cecil learn a White spell at his next level up as well as Young Rydia and watch as both learn the spell twice.  This is the best I can remember about this issue--I think I might be missing something but maybe this will at least get it in the right direction.

Here's a video explaining what I'm on about.

God it's been so long since I messed with that.  I believe you can use Zyrthofar's editor to more easily view the formations and then find the first "monsters in a box" formation.  And technically all of the event scripts use this set--Trap Doors, Monsters-in-a-box and stepping on the "Behemoth" tiles in Bahamut's cave on the moon.

1D8 starts a good interesting group of event battle formations...

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reviews.  When I get around to it I'll post those quotes on my site.

I'm also thinking about going through FF2usHT again just because I feel like it.  :D

I was going to hack this game several times but never got to it.  Real life tends to get to you once you're an adult.  Now that I'm well over 30 years old and about to me married I doubt I'd ever finish another project again.  :(

Starting immediately, I'm not going to be around much, due to a radical change with RL up here. This came on rather suddenly, but suffice it to say it's major. I don't know if or when I shall return, but if I don't, just don't wreck the place. :shadow:

Coincidentally, IST has now become a global moderator. Anger her at your own peril.

That sucks bro, sorry to hear that.

See you on the flip-side, if not take care of yourself!

That sounds good.  You could take screenshots of the maps while in FF4Tools too as well to show what they look like.   :cycle:

Anything new done to the FF4Tools?

I'm also waiting for people to submit their custom maps so I can archive them on my site.  http://www.jce3000gt.com/ff4_maps.php
