Yeah, I acquired a different ROM and it works perfectly. Thanks for all of your help and investigation! :)

2
I can't remember if it's headered or not, so I'll just give you each of the values.

1E897: 09
1E8A5: 60

1E697: C8
1E685: 26

Hope this helps!

Just attempted to open it in that editor, and the ROM wouldn't open. I'm stumped now, haha.

4
What would be the best way to tell if it's 1.1? I'm fairly certain I'd used this ROM with this editor before, though it's possible I hadn't. No patches have yet been applied to the ROM.

Hey Pinkpuff, thanks for this amazing tool! I'm loving it! I do have one concern though, and I apologize if I missed this being addressed elsewhere. I'm playing around with Commands, and every time I scroll down to the one directly beneath Kick, the editor completely crashes. I'm fairly sure my ROM is compatible with the editor, since this is the only issue I've seen so far. Am I totally doing something wrong, or is this a known bug?

Thanks again, your work is astounding!

Well ironically, the stuff you mentioned above is exactly what Newtype offers. =x

There are new skills for some jobs, some jobs have been totally altered (such as the Oracle having a new skillset based around Predictions, Archer having all new skills, Gafgarion being more like a Dark Knight, etc. etc.)

I'm working on a new translation for the script, and Chapter 1 is complete thus far. Additionally, Cloud has been replaced with Balthier, who uses his Quickenings and skills from Revenant Wings. Overall, it's meant to make FFT feel more like FFXII. This includes having added Yiazmat as a boss in Deep Dungeon. ;)

A more complete list can be found here: http://www.ffhacktics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4954

A note, though. There are quite a few sprite errors with event sprites. This is being fixed, but it's going to take a while. It's nothing gamebreaking, mind, just a graphics thing.

Well, the only complete hacks are:

FFT 1.3, which is a hardtype mod.
1.3 Easytype, which has the gameplay balances of 1.3, but without the difficulty.
Complete, which gives the PSX version the War of the Lions Script.
Call of Power Chapter 1, which is an all new story.

And my patch, FFT Newtype, which is complete in terms of gameplay, but not the entire script.

Sadly, neither of those are very complete. The demos are very outdated, and have quite a few glitches.

For PPF-o-Matic, just download it here: http://www.ffhacktics.com/downloads.php?id=12

Regarding torrenting it, it would probably be best to get the US version of it. That's the base we use on the site to edit it. Coolrom.com is a great site to go to for downloading it.

Typically, people who play the hacks play it on an emulator on their computers. From what I understand certain hacks can't be used on the PSX because of the way they're made. If you let me know which hack you want to play, I can give you a direct link. To play them, though, you'll need PPF-o-Matic, which will patch the patch to an ISO.

Being a member of FFHacktics, I can act as a bridge of sort. GrimoireLD also belongs there. There are a ton of awesome tools to check out there, including the FFTPatcher, which can edit basically any gameplay facet of FFT. There's also a text editor, event decompiler, and a map editor (work in progress). So yeah, there's a ton of stuff to play with.

Well, what I'm doing on Hardtype right now is cleaning up the existing dialogue, and inserting things into the existing dialogue to make things clearer. There's something oddly fun about cleaning up the text.

...I'd still love it if the editor could fit my screen though. XD

Hmm, apparently Poco sent me Beta 1, according to the folder name. If there's a later version out, I'd be much obliged if you could send it my way.

Also, I hope that 'WTF' emoticon wasn't aimed towards wanting the editor to be smaller. =P

I'm loving this dialogue editor, it's amazingly simple to use! Now just to figure out how to be able to edit ALL the lines and not run out of bytes. v_v

That being said, I'm not sure if anyone here has a line in with Lord J, but I really wish the GUI was smaller. I work on a notebook, and I have to make all the changes to Items and Monsters on a desktop because my screen won't fit the OK button to apply the changes. Not sure how doable this is, but this is my biggest qualm with the Editor thus far.

Other than that, this is probably the best Editor I've ever used and I hope Lord J puts out some editors for other FF's- it makes making patches a breeze for newbies like me! =D

Poco, I sent you a PM- just in case you didn't notice. =P

I'm quite interested in trying this new version of the editor!

Ebmid is STILL going on about that? I thought that was over with...

Luckily in VI Hardtype, it just casts Bolt on hit. I might change it to Bolt 2, but I don't want to make it TOO good, like it was with Wind Slash. =P
