The Ogre Axe is the only weapon as far I can tell. The hit rate was boosted 16% in FF2US.

After following the thread of data through the ROM, I checked the speech data for the Smith and confirmed that it's tied directly to the Big Whale surfacing. The Whale surfacing sets an event flag, which is checked by the smith's speech data. He'll load the event of giving you Excalibur if the event flag is set, otherwise he'll load a normal message event.
I never knew about this, either. Learn something new every day.
I've been trying to figure out what is happening, but the event script is not behaving normally. The event that occurs the first time you enter the Big Whale activates NPC (a person/object) D8 (at least the mystery of what there's two events loading the Big Whale map is solved).
I never knew until I was able to view the entire map at once, you just don't notice it in-game.

How is not being able to see in any way hindering your ability to speak and chant?
I'd just like to see my name in a hack...And it would completely destroy any sense of balance that we inserted. No, if your characters are going to be powerhouses, they will have to earn it. There will not be a one-trick pony to assist you this time around.
It would be an esper spell that does something like Odin or Raiden, but better. It would attack all targets as if wielding the Scimitar... damage dealt would be high, with a chance to inflict death primarily (ignoring death resistance) and other random statuses, including Confuse, Sleep, Berserk
, and Silence
.
Yes, it's unoriginal and boring, but that's me.

I did a few tests like these a while ago. You can find it in this thread: http://slickproductions.org/forum/index.php?topic=118.0
Here's what I thought:QuoteI did a few tests, and from what I could determine, a weapon spell power of 01 roughly equals a wisdom stat of 3. Cecil casting Fire1 with wisdom 6 did about the same damage as a Shadow Sword casting Fire1 at a spell power of 02, and Cecil casting Fire1 with wisdom 17 did damage about the same as a stat of 06. I changed the stat to FF, and Fire1 was doing anywhere between 3000 and 5600 damage -- so it does appear you can make it pretty super-powered. I tested FF with a Fire2 spell, and did 9999 damage consistently (at least to beginning monsters).
