Haste+Slow at works best when cast twice.. though Slow has a greater impact though.

thanks, i appreciate the speed in answering those.  just about at the end of bahamut's cave, but i have to head off to work.  i'll finish it later.

edit:  and, yes, i had realized that cecil can equip cain's stuff.  i was just curious about the 2 dragon spears.  thank you, though.

Consider it an extra weapon to throw for the final battle for those who don't abuse the item dupe bug.

just out of curiosity, what would it's US name be?

I purposely made it Japanese.  Its the "Last Arm" Japanese name--so ask DKK what that translates to.

Don't you love Sorcerers?   :laugh:  Those are my tribute to the FF1 Sorcerers that always kills people trying to get the Masamune.

i'm just about to finish bahamut's cave. i'll say, the sorcerers are an excellent touch.  from astos' crown to the tofr at the end of the game, all of their iterations are tough.  :omghax: you're very much right.  i remember the first time i played through ff2 i kept leveling, expecting edge to gain more magic.  what you've done is PERFECT.  :cookie: :cookie: 2 white magic casters and 2 black magic casters.  i also love the fact that cecil has cure3 now.  2 just wasn't enough for the endgame. i don't use the item dupe bug, so that's where i'll be using it. thanks for the extra throw.  :happy:

Actually, the name is pretty interesting. "Last" is sometimes used to signify the strongest/ultimate (Example: Last Elixir, the Japanese name for Megalixir) and "Arm" in this context refers to a weapon. That means it could be interpreted as "Ultimate Weapon" and guess what the name they used for it in Easy Type was? :wink:

also, jce,  i found the sorcerers in the lunar palace at the hp recovery tile. any reason why they just attacked themselves for 9999 instead of fighting me? i take it that that was on purpose?

edit: are there more monster attack tiles around outside of that one? did you replace all of the random findable stuff like that with monsters?

edit2: btw, how is ffiv revolutions coming along?

Actually, that's there because of oversight. IIRC, certain tiles (particularly warp/effect tiles) seem to share the same thing that generates an treasure.. but you know some treasures are monster infested That's what you get as a result. This effect extends to this hack.

The battle script used by the monsters is wrong, but fortunately it doesn't cause the game to freeze.

edit: just after i posted this, i found the chest with the monster formation in the lunar path(ninja robe) that corresponds to that group of 3 sorcerers on that hp tile. does that make sense?

also, thanks again, jce, these 3 sorcerers destroyed me completely but the game continued.  the 3 confused ones in the lunar palace were ok, but the 3 that wanted me dead did it in a very short amount of time.

FF4-R is on hold until I get some things sorted out--like my car project and now my new place to live.  I estimate sometime this summer before things calm down a bit so I can return to my projects.

that was pretty good trick with the 2 ribbons.  i killed the 2 plagues without too much trouble.  then, i walked up to a ribbon chest, expecting to just grab them and go.  the pack of 3 lunarsaurs(lunar dragons?)  placed in each chest was a good thought. i ended up almost dying at the first chest, because just cecil and cain were (partially)alive, but were both cursed. 

edit: btw, what does their "breath" attack do?  it's never affected me in all the battles that i've been in against them.

wait a second, where did i get a suit of adamant armor and an adamant shield from? did i win those in that lord j battle also? i just noticed them in my inventory.

edit: wait a second, an adamant helmet and gauntlets, too? this is pretty cool.

edit2: just did a ton of armor shuffling.  all 5 of my guys are definitely ready for zeromus now. 

cain has: holy spear, adamant shield, helmet, and armor, and gigas glove
rydia has: comet, ribbon, black robe, and rune ring
james has: ragnarok, dragoon helmet, strength armor, and adamant gauntlet
rosa has: reviver, ribbon, minerva robe, and rune ring
edge has: katana and murasame, ninja helmet and robe, and a genji gauntlet

i need edge's other sword, and i'm all set.  the party has an average level of 55.   :cycle: :cycle:

my game time right before zeromus is 56:57, but i've been playing at 225fps the entire time using SNESGT, so the clock has been moving pretty fast.  i'm lv. 55 on avg.  i'll let you know what time i finally beat him at.
