I don't know about having 0 HP at level ~27.  I would at least have a negatively proportional amount each level up but at some point you'll need to cap it at a set low amount.  250~350 has a good ring to it.  Let your monster stats and AI plus cursed equipment be more of what "curses" your party.  Just a thought. 

Otherwise it's a great idea.

I haven't heard of this hack until I read this topic literally just now.  So this literally picks random; maps, treasure, jobs, magic, items, and monsters but doesn't actually have any NEW data (beyond event editing looks like)?  I'm finding a hard time locating the actual log of what has changed and I didn't do the Ancient Cave in Lufia 2 so I feel so clueless.  LOL

Don't know if this will help and I feel bad for not publicly releasing those offsets yet but starting at offset (no header) 74300 is the overworld encounter rate (goes left to right in 32 tile blocks), 74340 is the underworld encounter rate (one byte for entire map), and 74341 is the moon map also one byte for the whole map.  After that is each map encounter rate (74342-744C2).

I definitely agree with this!  Part of the problem might be the ludacris way Final Fantasy 4 stores the graphics, size/palette pointers, and etc.  Still, it's been almost 15 years since I started hacking Final Fantasy 4 and it just now is starting to get in the mainstream.  Better late than never!

I can imagine in MASS your Patriots and Red Sox get all the attention.  And don't give up on BC, they will be good again.  college football goes in a cycle it seems.  Take my Aggies, the past 20 years have been a roller coaster.  LOL
