:edit: The strength armor is mind-bogglingly broken, having nearly twice as much armor as the ninja.. maybe more.  Why can Cipher equip it???

Whoa, Strength armor is indeed broken, its supposed to have 0 magic defense.  Whoops...

Sorcerers (if you didn't read the thread here) are paying a devilish honor to the FF1 Sorcerers who seemed to love to one hit kill you even if they did 1DMG.

A few little screens of a Sorcerer in action on my last quest.

Haha, wow... the CPU was hard too.  I spammed meteo the entire time, Rosa healed and used ethers, and Rydia spammed leviathan.  Cecil brsk/hasted himself, and Cipher followed suit with rage.  I did juuuust enough damage before I ran out of resources.  Pretty intense.  On the moon, Kain is back in my party now.

Yeah, but at least I wasnt using the adamant/ragnarok, eh??  I'm not gonna go THAT far.

What made the CPU harder vs normal?

DKK, did you ever fix any issues with FF2usHT like you did with FF3usHT?  I might be getting in the mood to stop playing Romancing SaGa and start working to fix FF2usHT.

Nope. One thing I'd suggest is porting it to version 1.1 to fix the timer issue, shouldn't be too hard to copy all your data changes over, at least one monster (The Ghost) can crash the game because of the broken timers.

The Ghost in 1.0 or the Ghost in 1.1?

Hehe, gotta love surprises.  If you hadn't won the Cursed Ring imagine how hard those battles would of been, eh?  If you have a save there take it off and try again just for grins.

Oh, by the way.  Blood spear should be nerfed to hell, it's wayyyyyyy too good.  Anything that lets people solo entire dungeons just by repeat jumping is ridiculous, IMHO.

The Blood Spear should be nerfed probably--but I think its usefullness is about to expire.

oh, you changed the cursed ring? it's a lot stronger?  do the same monsters drop it now? i'll start up my old playthrough and go find one.

I'm surprised this is the first time someone's noticed to be honest.   :whoa:

I see someone finally legitimately won a Cursed Ring to see how much it rocks now.  :D  And the Ghosts are definately a pain in the ass--and that was probably unexpected eh?  Truth be told I really didn't touch Leviathan and Asura.  Next time I will.

I'm loving these playthroughs because it gives me the extra testing I need to tweak it the second time.  I still someday want to go through and fix everything as well as tweak some other stuff.

That's paranoid, to put it mildly. It's been hacked for months, if not a full year. This has been known for quite some time. People have even replaced the roms in VC games with other games. hell, that's been documented on this forum!

I didn't even really read that topic yet, on the surface it seems pretty cool to put whatever ROMs you want on the Wii VC.  My main problem with it is people will put ROMs on it that are legally available to purchase because they are cheap.  I have no real issue with people putting up a translated SD3 or what-not since it seems as though it will never get translated ever.  I'd like to play my ROM hacks on it and since I own the original carts (in multiplicity I might add) I don't see a problem with it.  And as long as it doesn't take physically hacking the console--a software expliot is one thing a hardware modification is another.  I can't control anybody but I at least ask those of you here not to go the cheap route and put up exsisting ROMs on your VC.

And you guys have to remember something, I do not follow any sort of news much less gaming news and much less than that hacking news.  That's why I wasn't really aware of this.

I'm not sure how one can assume those Japanese games aren't getting translated.

It's not as if Nintendo is hiring guys behind the scenes to do the romhacking.

Its only a matter of time before they wake up and realize games like SD3, Treasure Hunter G (which is already out in Japan), and the Dragon Quest games will sell very well.  They've made a killing off of the VC and will continue to if they fix the exploits and release more titles.  I've been stating for almost 2 years that I will pay $$$ for legal vintage games on the Virtual Console (VC for future reference).

And if the were smart they'd just either hire 3rd parties to translate or just "buy" some of the public's translations -- like the SD3 trans for instance.

I'm not sure they will go that route.. because if it is done, it will kill any legal strangehold companies would have on romhacking in general. In other words, they don't want to set the precedent... Mind you, it is profitable if they used their heads.

The precedent has been set, Sega bought DGen (or Kega?) to use with the Sega Smash packs or whatnot.  They need to just embrace it and start thinking about their wallets and us the consumer and just do it.  They are losing millions of $$$ globally me thinks.

...and people are complaining?  Well what the fuck did you expect?  My main problem is stupid mother fuckers have of course hacked and decrypted the Virtual Console which means the Wii will die or the Virtual Console will go away.  That was the ENTIRE REASON for me to own a Wii.  Now because of these retards we may NEVER get properly translated Japanese vintage games.  Thanks you retards for ruining it for the rest of us.

Why not? Believe me, once you have omnicasting and dualcast on both your mages there is no challenge left anyway.

And best feature known to man? I sure hope you're kidding, it's just a cheap way to artificially extend the length of the game a bit.

I was poking fun a bit, but it does give me a good reason to go through the games I like again.  I wish FF12 had this feature as well as pretty much any RPG.

New Game +

Beat the game and you can save and start from the beginning with augments and specifics things carried over. After 3 playthroughs in a row, you can't start another New Game + on that file (unless you delete it).

Why do they limit us on the best extra feature known to man?  CT let you do it infinitely as does RS (PS2).
